I'm so sorry that I haven't updated in a loong while. I'm sitting for my Externals and I have this other book and a lot has been going on, but I will try my best to publish more frequently to make up for it!

Also, thank you to everyone who's been adding my story to your reading lists! You have no idea how much that makes me happy♥️

on another note, I will be adding a word count at the end of the chapters to see the ideal length for chapters you guys want. let me know if a chapter was too long or too short, I'd appreciate it.

I've also added a link for The Lumineers' Ophelia because i was listening to it while writing this and just thought you'd like to.

Lastly, this chapter isn't my best (sadly) and isn't edited but i wanted to give you guys something bc i feel really bad for how i left off with the last chapter.

🚨Spoiler alert🚨

We won't kill anyone major.

Or will we? 😈

I held a hand to my chest, trying my best to breath. My eyes felt like they would fall out any second from how wide they were open. I slowly turned towards Anthony, who seemed to be in the same state of panic i was trying to breath my way out of.

"Oh my gosh!" My voice sounded shrill and foreign, but the urgency seemed to have snapped tony out of his haze and he looked towards me. "Are you okay? Tony?"

His jaw dropped and I could almost see the gears turning behind his dark, dilated pupils.

I yelped when he suddenly jerked his head, ripped his seatbelt off and stumbled out of the car. I immediately tried to follow but the airbags got in the way, so i just pulled my feet up and climbed from the top. I jumped to the ground and winced as my ankle gave out and i fell face first onto the hard asphalt.

"Ugh!" I grabbed for my nose and tried to ignore the tears streaming down my face as Tony rushed to help me up. He looked as bad as i felt, and his white shirt was now almost soaked in blo- my blood.

"Are you okay?" He was frantic, he carried my and lay me gently on the  hood of the car, careful to sweep away the glass shards left there from the windshield.

I blinked repeatedly to get rid of the twitch in my left eye, then nodded to assure him i was, for the time being, safe.

"I think I twisted my ankle, is all. Did you find what we hit?"

He sighed and shook his head no.

"There was nothing when i got there. It must've been an animal that recovered and ran away before we did"

I wanted to argue against that, but I realized how scared Tony must be right now. If no one is there, then I'm okay with a lousy animal excuse. I did my best at a comforting smile and slid off the car hood, fishing my phone out of my pocket and speed dialing my dad.

Despite my continuous reassurances that I was in fact, fine, I was seated on a hospital bed, hooked up to an IV that was supposed to make me get better, and feeling lonely as hell. I was contemplation wether or not jumping out of a window on the twentieth floor would be exciting enough when the door was busted open and my dad rushed in.

"Y/N! ARE YOU OKAY?" he threw his arms around me and squeezed the air and dust particles out of me.

"Dad! My ribs!"

Right, I forgot to mention that apparently, I have snapped my ankle, bruised a rib and was this close to breaking my nose, not to mention a bunch of cuts i got from the window glass.

He quickly released me and held me at an arms' length, scanning me with his eyes, mumbling under his breath.

"Daddy, I'm fine" i laughed while Dad's secretary, Miss. Romanoff, chuckled silently.

It took a lot of convincing, but Dad asked Miss. Romanoff to check me out of the hospital while we went to the hospital cafeteria for a bite. As soon as I stepped into the sickeningly white seating area of this "cafeteria", note the hidden sarcasm, I was yet again engulfed in a tight hug. I giggled and pushed lightly against Tony's chest, all the while aware of the stares our little display of affection was attracting. And I'm not gonna lie, I liked that.

A lot.

More than I would like to admit, but that wasn't my main concern at the moment. I immediately grabbed Tony's hand and checked his bandaged palms, wincing on his behalf.

He chuckled and drew away his hand to pat my head. "I'm fine, pet". I felt my face heat up in embarrassment,  but I wasn't sure wether it was because of the nickname or the close proximity.

He only smiled and grabbed me to a table, where he sat us both down. My father was right behind us, and he also took a seat opposite of us, and eyebrow raised as he glanced from me, to Tony, to me again. I cleared my throat.

"so... food?"

As soon as Miss. Romanoff got us something to eat, I started shoveling the bland cardboard food down, to try and avoid my father's questioning gaze. I looked at Tony, only now realizing he wasn't eating, but just watching me stuff my face, clearly holding back a family sized laugh. Oh god! Why did I keep making an idiot out of myself in front of this man? And my dad too! This just wasn't my year, and the year has just started!

I sighed in frustration and put down the cardboard white donut, swallowing the chunk in my mouth with a grimace. I glanced at the beautiful Miss. Romanoff and she smiled sweetly as usual. How that woman bears my father is a mystery to us all.

Above you see the word count without the intro. I know the chapter wasn't very good but the coming ones are better.
