Italy, Here We Come

Oh and in case your wondering, no the whole story will not be in diary form. This is just the prologue. Using her diary as an intro to what they are planning to see and how she's feeling about the trip, etc... The next chap will be the beginning of the actual story, starting with the plane ride :)

Dear Diary,

Can you believe that in less than three hours Delaney and I will be in Verona, Italy? I can’t either! I am ready to get out of our boring town and definitely out of Wisconsin. I am amazed our parents put their heads together and surprised us with two round trip tickets and a two week stay at Relais de Charme Il Sogno di Giulietta! Long name I know, but it’s a beautiful name for a beautiful hotel!

It should have cost Momma and Mr. and Mrs. Stancer a ton of money, but luckily Mr. Stancer’s old college roommate is a supervisor there so we get a discounted stay! Delaney and I looked at it online, and needless to say we can’t wait! It’s so close to Casa di Giulietta (Juliet’s House)! Not to mention it has a balcony that looks out over the city! Oh and a jetted bathtub! Can’t wait to relax in that… or to take advantage of the in-room massages!

I wonder what it’s going to be like. I’m a little scared because I’ve never been out of the country before… I hope it is fun and we don’t get too lost! Maybe we will meet a cute boy or two to show us around. Even if we don’t find some cuties to show us around, Del and I will have a great time. We are both so sporatic that it wouldn’t matter. We would find some way to make everything we do entertaining!

Here’s a list Del and I have made for sight-seeing

-  Juliet’s House (Which by the way we were told by my momma that if you rub Juliet’s right boob on her statue it will bring you good luck. We are still not too sure about doing that one…)

-   Juliet’s Tomb is another must!

-  Castelvecchio Museum (Always wanted to see a castle)

-   And of course a few other museums, cathedrals and piazzas!

That’s our must do list, so we have to make sure to see all of it in two weeks. I’m looking forward to all the walking, picture taking, eating and of course I will definitely make sure that I get to go and splash around in at least one fountain!

I sure am gonna miss momma though. I’ve never spent that long apart from her ever since daddy died last year of Cancer. He was a great man and I sure do miss him so much! His side of the family is actually Italian, so going to Italy will feel like I’m a little closer to him.

Oops gotta go! Del just walked in and we need to double check to make sure we have everything and get ready to go to the airport!
