I'm sorry for the extremely late reply.
Anna was about to step out of the house when her father asked where she was off to and she said “I want to check on Ginger; I need to check if she is doing fine.” Her father stared at her with his eyebrows raised “Okay father, I’m going riding; I will be careful.”
“Anna, you know you can’t lie to your father and I’m sure your father in heaven will not like that you are telling lies. Don’t stay long and come early to give me lunch.” She laughed at his statement and ran to the stable.
She opened the stable door and went to meet her mule that was bright brown in color, had a strong and well-built body structure, she brushed its mane and pat its head and saddled it.
She put on her breaches and climbed the horse; she tapped the horse by the side so it will run. She loved the feel of the wind on her face and the way her hair responded the wind’s movement.
She brought the horse to a stop when she saw the poster that indicated a horse racing competition which was to hold in a week’s time. This gladdened Anna’s heart as she turned Ginger around and headed home.
On her way home she was thinking of what she was going to tell her father “Ginger, what do you think I should tell father that I’m going for in the next one week. You know he won’t let me go if I said it was a racing competition.” The horse neighed in reply “What of me telling him I’m going to see Marie? You know it’s not a total lie, we can go there after the competition.” The horse neighed again and she rubbed its body. “You are so smart Ginger. We would go there, that is to Marie’s house after tomorrow’s practice. Okay?”
On getting home she met her father opening a letter and she asked who gave him the letter but he motioned with his hand for her to move closer. When she moved closer she saw her name in the letter grabbed it from her father and read the whole letter “Father, how can you do this to me?”
“It’s for your own good and I asked the Holy Spirit too, you know I don’t do things without asking him first. He gave me a nudge and I wrote the first letter and a reply has come, so you are betrothed to Robert dawn. He seems like a kind man too and he writes beautifully. God has taken control of this situation, so do not worry.”
“I guess I have a letter to write, ask God to help me,” she said and went to her room with the letter from Robert Dawn.
Dear Robert,
How are you doing? I’m sorry to inform you that the previous letter was written by my father and since there is a reply from you I guess you are pleased with the letter.
You asked me to write a few things about me; I love God, which is a very important thing to know about me. I hope you do too.
I also love my father, my mother died after she gave birth to me so I was brought up by my father; I hope you won’t judge my ways when we finally get to meet.
I have a horse which goes by the name Ginger, Ginger is a very close friend of mine and I have another friend who goes by the name Marie, she got married about five months ago and she is expecting a baby. Her belly is as round as a watermelon.
That is a few things about me; I saw in your letter that you work at a bank, I hope it isn’t too stressful.
Your betrothed,
Anna Clark.
“I never liked writing letters but, I’m glad I could write something tangible.” She took the letter to her father to ask for envelope which he handed to her with a smile on his face. She put the letter in the envelope right in front of him and went to keep it in her room to ensure the safety of the letter.
