Book 1: Annabelle's Pokemon Journey through Kanto

Ch. 2: Rival Battle & New Friend

Annabelle walked out of Professor Oak's lab when her mother suddenly showed up.

"So this is the Pokemon you end up going with as your starter," Her mom said. "What should I call your new friend?" She asked.

"Flare," Annabelle replied.

"Flare, what a lovely name."

"Chamander," Flare cried out, agreeing.

"So I believe that you will be setting off on your Pokemon journey now," her mom said. "I knew this day would come, so I got you this map to help you get around," She said, heading Annabelle a map.

"Thanks, mom," Annabelle said, taking the mom before her mom told off and went back home.

Annabelle then put Flare down, putting the map in the side pocket of her bag for now as they both head off for Route 1 to begin their journey.

Annabelle were now walking through route 1 when they encountered an Oddish.

"Flare, it's an Oddish. Come on, let's battle it and catch ourselves an Oddish," Annabelle said.

"Charm," Flare said, getting in front of Annabelle and into a battle stance.

"Alright, Flare, start off with Scratch!" Annabelle commanded.

"Charmander!" Flare cried out, running towards Oddish with its claw out, scratching Oddish.

"Oddish," Oddish cried, falling back a bit from the attack until it shook it off before using the move acid.

"Flare dodge and use Ember!" Annabelle commanded.

"Chamander!" Flare cried out, opening his mouth and spitting small flames at Oddish.

"Oddish," Oddish cried out in pain, falling on the ground.

"Pokeball, go!" Annabelle said, throwing a Pokeball at Oddish before it could get back up.

The Pokeball shook three times until it clicked, signaling that she had caught Oddish.

"Alright, I caught an Oddish!" Annabelle cheered, running over and grabbing the Pokeball.

"Charmander!" Flare cried, cheering as well.

"Alright, let's continue heading to Viridian city and meet up with Trace. He wanted to have a battle before heading to Pewter City.

As they walked a little farther through the route, she was given a potion to heal her Pokemon from a guy who works at the pokemart.

She thanked him and continued walking when she was challenged to a battle by a boy named Youngster Ronny, whose only Pokemon was a Rattata.

"Alright, Flare, show this Rattata who boss use Ember!" Annabelle commanded.

"Chamander!" Flare cried out, knocking Rattata back with ember.

"Rattata, get up and use tail whip," Ronny said.

Rattata turned around and shook its tail. Annabelle chuckled at the youngest bad choice of attack and had Flare finish Rattata off with ember.

"You are powerful. Here you go, 60 pokedollars," Ronny said, giving Annabelle the money she earned before returning his Rattata.

"Thanks,"  Annabelle said kindly, continuing her journey to Viridian City.

Annabelle arrived at Viridian City and ran into Trace.

"You finally arrived," Trace said.

"Yeah, and caught a new Pokemon," Annabelle said.
