Third person POV

"How does it feel to live forever?"

"Horrible." Mina muttered.

"Why so? I think it would be great!" The innocent girl's eyes shined at the thought of living forever with no worries.

The immortal stared bitterly at the mortal before answering.

"As years goes by, people who you have come to like pass away earlier than you." Mina looked at the stars, reminiscing about the times she spent on earth. Thinking that the stars could be the people she has shared many wonderful memories with.

"You see them struggle and the only thing you can do to help is to stay by their side. You become more distant as they grow older, because they now have their own lives."

Chaeyoung intently listened as Mina spoke about her experiences.

"You will outlive everyone and see all the events happen." Mina closed her eyes and sighed before continuing.

"Falling in love hurts way more, knowing one day, that person may not be with me anymore." She frowned as she felt a sting on her heart; she thought of a certain someone.

The immortal opened her eyes once more to look at the stars. "I try to avoid it as much as I can, but I didn't succeed." She smiled softly before turning her head to look at Chaeyoung.

"I fell for you after all."

The mortal girl's cheeks slowly turned pink then shook her head away to hide it.

"Well, it's not my fault that you fell for me."

Mina chuckled at her lover's cuteness and continued to gaze at the girl.

"How about you? How does it feel to have your days numbered?" Chaeyoung's face immediately turned gloomy.

Mina slapped herself, realizing her mistake.

"I-I'm sorry, I worded it wrong." Mina looked down and panicked before glancing at the girl with concern.

Chaeyoung, being the cheerful girl she is, smiled as she shrugged. "At least I know when I'm going to die."

The immortal girl stared sadly at the ill girl, who quickly noticed and whined:

"Don't look at me like that. It hurts." She said weakly, her voice trembling as she tries to stop herself from crying.

Mina immediately knew what to do; she stood up and went infront of Chaeyoung. She reached for the girl's head and drew it close to her stomach.

"C'est bon de pleurer, mon soleil."

Chaeyoung knew what that familiar sentence meant.

'It's okay to cry, my sun'

The girl's tears fell one by one, her breathing becoming heavier as time passes by. Her lover continued to caress her head gently while whispering comforting words.

"I don't want to die!" Chaeyoung cried out miserably.

"A month is too soon. I- I just had you!" She clutched Mina's clothes and continued sobbing.

Mina bit her lower lip, as she tries to be strong for the girl and not breakdown. "A month is enough for you to keep fighting. Promise me, you won't give up."

Mina herself is unsure whether Chaeyoung has a chance to stay in this world. She said it so that Chaeyoung doesn't lose hope.

She still has a chance, right?

The immortal girl persuaded herself that she could continue to embrace the girl for years, or maybe, forever.

"I promise! For you, my love, I'll keep on fighting! I promise, darling I promise!" Mina lifted Chaeyoung's head to look at her.

"Don't do it only for me. Do it for yourself also." She kissed Chaeyoung's head and held it close to her once more.

Chaeyoung sobbed until she fell asleep, and Mina hugged her tightly, terrified that she would lose the love of her life.

I need to break this curse, I won't be able to handle it if she dies on my arms again.
