Phoenix The Queen Of The Sky

Chapter 2

The queen was getting agitated. She didn't understand why but she had a feeling that something was wrong.
"Calm down, Livana. It's just a ball",she said to herself. "Leslie", she called.
"Yes your majesty",he said.
"Tell the maidservants to get the Princess down here. The ritual is about to begin",she ordered.
"Yes, your Highness",he said and left.
  *Fifteen minutes later*
The Priest had arrived (he was also a fairy) and had prepared everything for the ritual.
   He then told the queen to present the Princess.
"Yes,wise one", she said before turning to Leslie. "Did you deliver my message?"
"Yes, I did. They would be here shortly",he assured.
   They soon heard murmurs of people in the hall. The Princess was descending the stairs. Some guards lifted the hem of the gown while two held her hands. She looked exquisite.
"She looks splendid, your Highness", Leslie said to the queen but the queen didn't seem to be paying attention.
"Is everything ok, your Highness?",he asked her and the queen snapped back.
"Yes Leslie, just that I do not feel comfortable at all. It's like my spirit is trying to warn me about something", she said.
"I think you're just worried, your Highness",he said.
"Maybe", she said and turned her attention to the Priest who was sprinkling Phoenix with pixie dust as he circled her while he chanted an incantation.
"She is ready",he said. "May the queen step forward pls", the Priest requested.
   The queen walked over to the stage and stood in front of Phoenix.
"Now it is time to hand your crown and scepter over to her",he said. The queen nodded and removed her crown which she then handed over to the Priest who chanted a spell on it. He circled it around Phoenix's head three times before dropping it on a pillow.
   He also collected her scepter and chanted on it. He gave the scepter to Phoenix and was about to place the crown on her head when Boris interrupted.
"I am sorry,wise one",he said and whispered something to Phoenix. She rolled her eyes and asked the Priest to continue.
"Please do not interrupt the ritual", the Priest told Boris.
"I am sorry",he said and stepped backwards behind the Princess. The queen watched his movement and could see that he was uneasy. The Priest was about to crown Phoenix again but the queen asked him to stop.
"Is everything ok, Boris?", She asked Boris. Boris looked around uneasy before responding.
"Yes, your Highness",he said.
"Then why are you behaving like you just saw a spirit?",she asked.
"I am sorry, your Highness. I won't interrupt the ritual again", he said bowing but the queen wasn't convinced especially as his whole face was beaded with sweat.
"I order you to speak now or you shall be persecuted",she said and he looked up in shock and fear before turning to Phoenix who was trying to signal him not to talk.
"Guards?",she called in a bid to scare him and it worked.
"I will talk, your Highness",he said before turning back to Phoenix."She isn't...she isn't....", before he could finish Phoenix zapped him with the magic in her scepter. His body shrank before falling to the ground.
"Boris!", another Phoenix cried out from the stairs. Everyone became shocked as they started murmuring amongst themselves.
   The queen looked at the one on the stairs and noticed that she was wearing the necklace that she had given her before turning to the one in front of her who wasn't. She widened her eyes as she stared at the Phoenix in front of her.
"Do you recognize me sis?",she asked smirking at the Queen.
"Riyana", the queen said in shock.
"That's my name", she said and hit the scepter on the ground and it produced a great force that swept everyone across the room.
"What are you doing, aunt Riyana?", Phoenix asked in fear as she flew over to her mum who had hit the wall and was now weak. She flicked her hand and froze everyone except for the queen and Phoenix.
"Oh no you don't", Riyana said as she raised her hand signalling her dark magic which formed a huge hand that gripped Phoenix.
"Let me go, aunt", Phoenix cried out as she struggled from the grip of her aunt's powerful magic.
"I'm sorry to drag you into this Phoenix but your mom and I have a score to settle", Riyana said. "You know I was once like you,I loved hanging out with normal fairies. I was even in love but the spirits said I couldn't get married because I was supposed to be the queen. They didn't let me marry my beloved and eventually, he married someone else. I was so angry that I took the dark magic but what did the spirits do,they denied me access to the crown and gave it to my younger sister instead after taking my beloved from me", Riyana said. Phoenix had heard her say the story a lot of time.
"Then I'll let you be queen just stop what you're doing", Phoenix said.
"You don't understand, I not only want the crown, I want...",she formed another huge hand that carried the queen by her hair."...to see her beg for mercy as I strangle her to death"
"Please don't harm mother. I beg you", Phoenix pleaded in tears.
"I'm sorry Niece but I've planned for this ever since I became a prisoner. I will make the sky as well the spirits miserable",she said and the huge hand cut off the queen's wing. Riyana laughed as she squeezed the queen.
"No stop it!", Phoenix cried out.
"Stop acting like you care. You told me how much you didn't like her. How boring and controlling she was, how she was always reminding on how to be boring just so you'll be queen. How
you just wanted to be a lot like other fairies but she wouldn't let you", Riyana said and continued squeezing the queen when a great force pushed her to the wall. She lost control of her magic which made the magic hands disappear dropping both Phoenix and the queen. The queen couldn't fly since she had no wings but Phoenix flew to her and carried her to the ground.
    Five armed fairies appeared. Phoenix gasped,they were the spirits.
"You have crossed the line Riyana. You left your tower and came down here to destroy the ceremony. You deserve death",their leader said zapped her with his rod and a green flame covered her. She screamed as the flame burnt her.
    Phoenix felt sad as she turned to her mother who was weak.
"Please help or she might die",she cried out.
"Because of you she might", one of them said. Phoenix turned to them in shock.
"You unlocked a dangerous villain that we had locked up because you wanted to see a game with your friends", another said.
"I'm sorry. I never thought that aunt Riyana would do that. It was just until I came back",she explained.
"You broke the rules!",they all yelled at her.
"You do not leave your duties unattended because of your selfish needs. None of the past queens had ever done that", the leader said. He flicked his hands and all the people who had been frozen unfroze.
    They all murmured wondering what had happened and why the five spirits we're here.
"Creatures of the sky", they called out and everyone turned their attention to them. "This fairy, the queen to be, committed an atrocity. She released Riyana, the witch fairy", their leader explained and all the guests gasped as their murmurings became louder. They all started glaring at Phoenix.
"How can she be a queen when she works with evil?",he asked.
   Phoenix didn't know what to do or say. She could hear the creatures criticize her and she broke into tears. Her mother held her and shook her head signalling her not to cry.
"Therefore,this is her punishment. Her powers shall be withdrawn from her and she shall be cursed forever. She shall be sent to land to dwell with land creatures and be made never to return",their leader declared.
   Phoenix couldn't move as soon as she heard it. Her mother managed to sit up as she pleaded with them to change it but the fairies wouldn't bulge.
   The creatures chanted in support.
🗣️:Yes banish her.
🗣️:She deserves it for working with evil.
🗣️:You are the most disgusting queen we have ever had.
  They continued insulting her as the five spirits approached her and the five fairies joined the magic in their staff together as they zapped her.
   A portal surrounded her as it sucked her in. Her wings fell off as the portal sucked her in.
"No!",she screamed out trying to draw herself out from the portal. "Let me out. Please!",she cried out. She looked at her mum who was in tears as a knife pierced her. Riyana smirked at her as she stood up. She was black and out of shape. She looked really horrible.
"Mother!", Phoenix screamed out as the portal completely sucked her in.
  The five spirits turned surprised to see the queen mother stabbed and lying lifelessly on the ground.
"Are you surprised?", Riyana asked from behind. They all turned to her in surprise.
"I should have known that you were behind this", the leader of the five fairies said.
They joined the magic in their staff together before zapping Riyana but shockingly,she absorbed it all. They were more shock than before.
The creatures in the Palace made to run but she locked up the entire palace with her magic.
"I am so tired of chitchats. So I'll make this quick",she said before zapping the five of them. The green flame burnt them all into ashes.
"Now creatures of the sky, welcome your new queen",she said releasing her dark magic as it devoured the entire kingdom turning everything to black and also made everywhere dark.
  The leader of the five fairies struggled to put off the flame that was burning him but his colleagues couldn't. He cried when he saw them all burnt to the ground. He flicked his hands and a small portal appeared sucking him in.
  This was the beginning of the dark ages.
