Twilight reached the Las Vegas skies as Melody and Abuela sat in forlorn expectation.
Each passing minute, yearning to witness those familiar features of their beloved.
"She confessed to her conduct while also claiming that she had a hatred for the driver..."
"....she HAD sent it to Lewis Hamilton and she confessed as to doing so."
Words of the officer, back at the informatory desk, circulated in continuous reminders.
The shocking revelation of a careless mistake, haunted Melody's reminiscence. Her heart berated her mind. A constant conflict between the guilt and reasoning. Her heart indulged in a pang of guilt at overlooking an intoxicated novice while her mind reasoned the improbability of parenting a twenty-seven-year-old while being tipsy herself. Parenting double-trouble leads to nothing but stumble.
Yet overpowering the guilt of ignorance was the guilt of initiation. Her idea, vexatious as it was, lead to such consequences she barely dreamt of. Her act of mischievousness that lead to the sequel of outcomes followed. Owing to her mastermind, her best companion was rotting in jail, apart from placing themselves within the blacklist of Abuela and an eternal fracture upon her trust.
More than ever, though, her prayers remained in witnessing her best friend. Her smiles, transporting the vibes of contentment, and her doe-hazels ensuring the worldly joy to an eternity.
No sooner did Ailany's face began to bob up and down in the distance. It was Melody's keen sight that focused in on the familiar outlines of her friend, a privilege that no longer surmised the list of Abuela's abilities. She hurried through the driveway just as Ailany burst out through the entrance, embracing her in fancy.
"Oh Ailany!! Oh, you're safe! Gracias a dios!" The words were a honeycombed rhythm to the trail of dire exposures precedingly recieved.
The familiarity of strawberries and peaches enveloped her nostrils, as Ailany remained within the warmth of her best friend. The instant comfort called for her tears. She yearned the moment to last a second longer; yearned to compliment the momentary assurance of a cage of obscurity that fit her to perfection. It was more or less an escapism from a reality, impending probable disaster. An escape from words that had etched her mind to damage.
Just as they broke contact, a flash broke her vision. Night has claimed Las Vegas and the sudden burst of luminescence annoyingly blinded her sight. It lasted a second, claiming both Ailany and Melody once again by the surrounding darkness.
A decorum of silence.
Both companions exchanged glances of confusion.
"What was that?!" Melody glanced around.
However, to Ailany it was never a priority of concern. A spontaneous flare could care less than the domineering exhaustion of her body. She yearned to connect with her cozy bed, after a shower she barely expected to experience within the possibility of a year.
