A Vacation

Chapter 1

Two weeks, that's all it took for me to find my boyfriend. The funny thing is that while I was thousands of miles away from my home... So was he. We met in South Carolina on Myrtle Beach. And that's where it all started.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Ugh. My alarm clock. I went across the room to my Ipod and turned off the alarm. I walked over to my dad and woke him up. For the past few days me and my dad have been waking up at 5:30AM to pick sea shells. It's a me-and-my-dad-thing sence I don't hang out with him like I used to when i was little. Even though I'm not a morning person I will be if it means spending time with my dad.

I rolled my SOFFE shorts up a little more at the top. They were zebra print. I had a black tank-top on that matched. We got out shoes off and left the hotel room. We got into the elevator and pressed 1.

On our way out of the hotel i noticed the cutes little dog. I couldn't see it's owner because I had to catch up with my dad.

We got into our van and headed two blocks to the ocean. We parked into a private lot. I got out of the car and grabbed my bag that i would use. We walked to the bridge that was ontop of the sand that led to the beach. There were sea shells every where.

I was walking father down the beach from my dad i could barely see him. But when I looked up and saw a boy that looked around to be my age with something in his shirt. I kept on going picking up sea shells when something licked my ankle. It was a puppy.

It was chocolate brown, with the cutest brown floppy ears. It was so tiny. It must only weigh only a few pounds if i had to guess.

I kneeled down at the puppy so i could pet him. I looked up at him and said, "I didn't know that you had a puppy.". Smiling I then added, "Its cute."

The boy looked down at me "His name is Tripp" he paused "and what is yours?"

I stood up straight and smiled. "Jana."

"Kyle. Are you vacationing here?"

"Yeah. Two weeks with the family here on the beach. How about you?"

"I have a week and a few days left here and then I go back home to Michigan." Huh, what a coinsedence? I hardly ever meet people on vacation from the same state as me.  

"Where do you live in Michigan?"

"Kingsford."

My eyes got wide in shock. "No way! I live in Kingsford too!"

He just looked at me. "Really? We should hang out sometime then."

"Totally. That would be cool."

"If you give me your number I could text you..."

"Jana! Where are you. We need to get going!"

"That's my dad... Here give me your phone and I'll add myself and you can add me." I bent down to pet the Tripp one more time. Kyle bent down too, to pick him up. When he touched my finger I got a shock that started at my finger and continued up my arm. I shivered. I got up quickly and we gave each other our phones to add our numbers.

"Sweet." was all he said and then handed me his phone. I added myself and we handed back our phones. He smiled at me as I turned to go find my dad.

"Jana! Are you coming?" my dad asked.

"Yeah, hold on I'm coming." I turned around to wave but, he was all a blur walking the opposite way down the beach.

I met up with my dad. "Find anything?" he asked.

"Yeah." and more i added silently in my head thinking of Kyle.

Me and my dad headed back to the hotel to get changed and ready to go to the stores. I walked into the hotel room to find my mom and brother ready to go. I hurried up so we could get going.

It was only five minutes later when I was in my car heading out to shop when I realized that my phone was buzzing. I opened it and it was him. I got that warm fuzzy feeling you get when the simplest thing happens makes you happy, came to me.
