It's about 8:00 pm, and I walk into the house to see Cam asleep, unconscious on the couch. I slightly smile to myself and take off my sweater.
I walk over to turn off the TV, that is still playing whatever it was playing before. I then turned to her and sighed.
Guess I'll get her to bed..
I quietly pick her up bridal style, being considerate of her injuries, and I take her to her bedroom.
I layer her down gently, and as I was letting go, she grabbed my arm and pulled me closer. And she's a lot stronger than she looks.
"Dont.. go.." She whispered. I mean it's not as if I have anywhere else to go, so what exactly do I do..?
I dont sleep often so I just sat next to her, resting my head on her headboard, while Cam cuddled my arm. I eventually got lost in my own thoughts.
Before I knew it, tears were brimming in my eyes, beginning to roll down my face. The idea of never seeing Soren again, him leaving my life, I don't know how to feel. I wiped my tears with my free hand, but it was to no use, the tears kept coming.
I just really hope he can get better.
Can stirred, moving her head a tad bit to look up at me. She blinked a few times, and then as she realized she was holding onto me, she let my arm go.
"Sorry.." A mumbled voice came from Cam as she rubbed her eye. "But what's wrong.. are you alright?" She looked back up at me.
"Yeah," I said giving a final wipe to my eyes. "Well, you were asleep so I'll let you be. Goodnight Cam." I said getting up from my spot next to her.
"Hey.." She said grabbing my arm again. "You don't seem okay.. you don't have to talk about it, but it might help." She smiled slightly and I sighed.
"You need sleep." I said lowly.
"Yes but I find this more important. I want to make sure you're okay." She said emphasizing the 'you're' and poking me in the arm. I give in a sit back down next to her.
I give her the short story of what happened, not major details just because I'm tired. She just nods and listens. For being pretty talkative she's a great listener.
As she listens she continues to cling to my arm. I finish my little rant, and look over to see her clinging onto consciousness, her eyes fluttering shut every few minutes. I don't disturb her so I just sit there with her on my arm.. again. Atleast talking about it helped a bit.
I stay like that, letting Cam sleep. She looks very peaceful in her sleep. I push a strand of hair out of her eyes, and behind her ear.
I just sat and enjoyed the silence and tranquility with my friend. Friends? Do regular friends really do stuff like this together?
