A 13 year old girl lay on her bed thinking. Her birthday was in 2 weeks and she could hardly wait. She loved her birthday. Nothing really special happens on it but it was special all the same. "Kira," her foster mother called "Time for lunch!" "Ok" Kira called back. She put on her black basketball sneakers and ran down the stairs. She ran into her twin sister Julie who had finished lunch and was going to her room. They tumbled down the stairs into the kitchen.
Kira and Julie looked nothing a like except for their light tan skin and their dark brown hair. Kira had light brown-orange eyes and Julie had dark brown eyes. They even dressed differently too. Kira was all about jeans and t-shirts and would wear them almost anywhere. Julie liked clothes that fit for the occasion like a dress to a party or jeans to hang out. They were always fighting just because they liked different things or had different ideas. It made it difficult to live with but they loved each other. That's what counted.
Julie's nose was bleeding and Kira had four bruises and a bump on her head. Julie glared at her twin. What was she thinking? Who actually runs down the stairs? Their foster mom, Jamie looked up from the table eating a sandwich and saw what happened. She sighed and went to get some napkins for Julie.
