Alex took all the extra precaution on taking me back home. After my small incident of running out the door by myself, he ended up playing as the role of my shadow. And if he had to go somewhere, he would just drag me with him, even if I was feeding Eveline.
"Ready to go home?" He asked me once we were all secured on a nearby forest. I nodded quickly and he gave me a long kiss before he slowly shifted. Once he was in wolf form, Max licked my whole face and then crouched down to his belly so I could climb up on him.
"Is Eveline secured?" I called out to Quinn, who was a few wolves away from me. Even though she could run pretty fast -well faster than a human- she didn't have the same endurance as a wolf. So Daniel suggested -no demanded- for her to ride on his back and she had volunteered to carry Eveline for me in the homemade pouch; her hands would be free so she could hold on to Daniel, but her chest would be bloated with a baby pressed to her.
"Yes. She should be good for the next few hours, but we do have to stop to feed and change her."
"Heard that Max?" I asked him and his ears twitched in response. I kissed his head, stretched all across his back so I was basically laying down on him and then sighed in content. "Let's go home."
With multiple howls, I felt him start off to a trot and then start to pick up speed. I could feel he was holding back, and when I peeked up, I saw why. He was basically surrounded by different colored wolves as they all ran straight around the trees. Daniel was feet behind him with a grinning Quinn, but he was secured in the middle as well.
"Enjoying it?" I called out to her. My voice quivered with each step that Max took, so it basically sounded like 'en' step 'joy' step 'ing' step 'it?' step. She heard me though as her big brown eyes turned to look at me.
"Heck yeah. Beats self-running anytime!" She carefully bended so she could kiss Killians fur and he responded with a short howl. I laughed, laid down again and closed my eyes. So soft..... So comfortable..... So safe.
I felt something wet repeatedly touching my arm and I quickly sat up with a gasp. I saw half naked men surrounding me and I had to blink multiplied times to remember where I was at.
"We are resting. You hungry?" Quinn's voice echoed from behind me and I turned to see her propped up by Killian as she fed Eveline. I quickly got off of Max, groaned when my body protested and then stretched as I felt familiar arms surrounding me.
"Come on. You need to eat."
After everyone was fed from one of the two bags of food we had brought, we walked for a few minutes -since my body was till sore from before- and then everyone shifted. We only paused two more times to feed and change Eveline and when I was basically seconds away from slipping off of Max did we stop and rest for the day.
This same routine went on for another whole day. By the third day that we were on the road, I was cranky and refused to get on Max any more.
"Why won't you ride on Max?" Alex argued as I stood there, my arms crossed and not looking at him even though he wasn't wearing a shirt.
"I am tired of riding on a wolfs back. I love you Max, but I can't keep on going on your back.... Or anyone else's. Isn't there like a car or something?" He shook his head and I groaned. "Then how much longer until we get there?"
"About four hours if we go now. Ten if you really want to stop and ride on a car."
I groaned again and then huffed. "Fine. But you owe me a massage once we get back there." He nodded and I added, "And a foot rub."
"Whatever you wish love."
With my little tantrum over, we started off again and soon enough, I began to see the familiar gate. My eyes widened and the smile that was forming on my face only got bigger and bigger as we neared it.
"Did we take the long way? I don't remember going through the city."
Max huffed once as his big head moved up and down and I nodded, even though he didn't see me. That explained much.....
As soon as we crossed through the gate, multiple wolves surrounded us and they all let out a howl of celebratory. A few seconds later, more howls were heard in the distance and Max just picked up his speed, leaving everyone behind.
My heart began to pick up speed as the palace came into view and even tears began to form in the corner of my eyes as I saw familiar figures running out the door. One small one in particular caught my attention and I smiled.
Alice.
"Alice," I whispered as he began to slow down to a trot. He hadn't even stopped moving and I was already jumping off, bursting out into a run at the same time Alice sprinted towards me.
"Lila!" She shrieked as she flung herself in my arms and wrapped her tiny ones around my neck. My knees buckled under me from the sudden assault, but I didn't care. The tears that were rolling down my cheeks were hot and fast, and I didn't bother wiping them away. I could feel her small body shaking with each sob she took while her grip just got tighter and tighter. I completely ignored everyone around us and completely ignored the protest my body was doing from riding on a wolf for so long. She had my sole attention, and no one was going to take it from her.
I slowly released her a good ten minutes later, only to pull up her face so I could wipe away her tears. "I'm sorry I left," I whispered so softly so only she could hear me even though we were surrounded by people with supernatural senses.
"Why?" She breathed. "Why did you leave me?"
I kissed her forehead and pulled us up -as my knees were killing me now- before I crushed her to me again. "I'll explain it to you with everyone else. Now come on, let's go inside."
She nodded and began to take small steps with me as she kept her tiny arms around my waist and her head buried in my baby lump. As soon as I looked up though, I was crushed by some more arms and I couldn't stop the small chuckle that escaped my lips.
"Don't you ever leave us again!" Both April and June cried at the same time while they took turns hugging me. They returned to their mates quickly and as I was two steps away from finally entering the palace, I felt a heavy hand on my shoulder.
"Welcome back home love," Alex whispered in my ear. I smiled, tightened my hold on Ali and kissed his cheek before I finally stepped in.
It all looked the same. I mean I don't know why I expected everything to change or look different......
"Where's-" I got interrupted by the person I was looking for.
"Delilah!" Mags voice shrieked and then I found myself being lightly tackled down to the floor. I heard many distinct growls and three different gasps as I huffed from the sudden weight.
"Be careful with her!" I heard Williams voice gasp as the weight disappeared and I was immediately hoisted up. I lightly slapped Alex wandering hands as he decided to play doctor and make sure we were ok.
"I'm fine! Relax!" I half yelled, half sighed. "I just wasn't expecting it."
"Where's Quinn?" Alex's voice boomed through the noise in the room, making everyone freeze for a second.
"Who's Quinn?" Multiple voices echoed and I sighed. Not even ten minutes here and they were already overprotecting me. This was going to get frustrating.....
I felt small hand begun to touch my belly at the same time I heard her voice echo into the room and I looked down. I smiled at Ali's curious gaze and nodded as she looked up at me with the most obvious question written in her face. Her face slowly formed a smile and her smile stayed as I was lightly pushed to a couch before I felt more hands on me.
"I said I'm fine!" I snapped at whoever was touching me.
"Sorry," Quinn murmured and backed away, making Alex frown.
"No. She should-"
"Where's Eveline?"
"Who's Eveline?" Again, everyone asked at the same time. I heard Alex sigh in desperation as Quinn softly answered me.
"She's with Danny. I thought you might want to..... Explain everything to them before you introduced her."
I gave her a small smile and shook my head as everyone began to whisper around. "No, it's ok. Bring her in. I might as well get it over with."
She quickly disappeared and Williams voice quickly reached my ears. "So does anyone want to tell me why there is a vampire in the room?"
My eyes snapped to his direction near the stairs and he flinched. "She's my friend. She's the one who helped Alex out so if it wasn't for her-" I stopped when she walked in with Eveline in her arms. I heard four feminine gasps as Quinn quickly placed her in my arms before she skipped back to her mate who stood by the door.
I slowly uncovered Eveline so she could be seen better and smiled when I felt Alex's arms wrap around my waist.
"Everyone, meet our daughter, Eveline," Alex murmured loud enough for everyone to hear.
Again, everyone gasped.
FML. Gah I HATE parties now!! Well I HATE preparing one..... Pain in my ass lol *grumbles "stupid flowers...."*
I love my sister and niece to death, but I swear having to do all the centerpieces and invitations by HAND by YOURSELF sucks! And I didn't even VOLUNTEER!! Lol 😣 That's what I get for loving them..... 😕
I WILL warn y'all though, I will be busy for the next two weeks because of the so called party, so updates will be funky like this one. Just depends on when I have free time to relax a bit and write down the chapter. *sighs* busy, busy life.
Anywhoo, from what I have planned, the next few chapters will be boring. The action won't start again until.... Well you'll just have to wait lol Comment and Vote!!
