RECAP:
"I told you Maddison. You're strong. But not stronger than me!" He says
"I think not" I say and I give it my all
"Ahhhhhh!!" I say and yank my arm down to the floor and Xavier comes crashing down on both knees
Now he's bowing too. Both of us on our knees in front of each other
"Like I said. Your equal. Not your slave!" I say
That's the last thing I say before everything goes black

Darkness
That was all I saw
All around me.
Nothing but miles and miles of emptiness
I wasn't afraid of it though.
On the contrary
I welcomed it
I have always been a fan of the dark. Always kept my curtains drawn and my favourite colour is black
I loved it. The dark is where the demons come out to play
Suddenly I see a light.
Not a bright one, but very noticeable amongst the black
From it comes a figure. I cannot see who it is but they are coming towards me
"Maddison" I hear a voice whisper
It sounds like it came from everywhere, yet nowhere at the same time
"Maddison" I hear again
The figure is closer and it kind of looks like...
"Mom?" I ask squinting my eyes
She steps forward and I see the face of my mother
I haven't seen her in almost ten years
I haven't seen her since, the accident
Since I killed her
No!
No, she hates me!
Is this a dream? I have to wake up
I clutch my head and close my eyes willing myself to wake up but it doesn't work
"I don't hate you, my beautiful daughter" she says
I look up at her "W-W-What?" I stutter shocked
"I don't hate you" she repeats "I could never hate you. I love you my baby girl and I am so proud of you"
What?
"You've become a beautiful young woman. Strong, independent and resilient. Honestly I don't know anyone, myself included, that could have gone through all you've gone through and survived" she says
She walks to me and stops in front of me. She puts her hand on my cheek and smiles
"My baby girl" she says fondly "Come, sit"
She sits down
What the hell is she sitting on? There's nothing here
She gestures for me to join her and I do.
Weird
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you the truth. I was going to wait until you were sixteen but that time obviously never came." She says and gives me a sad smile
"Look Maddison. I know this is a very confusing time for you in your life right now but you have to listen to me and you have to do as I say" she says taking both my hands
I nod
"You need to claim your throne." She says "You need to take back the kingdom that is rightfully yours"
What?
"You don't remember this because I took your memories but we lived in the palace before. You girls were so happy there." She says and smiles "Your sister has powers too you know? She has telekinesis. After we had to leave, we told her to stop using her powers around you. Kind of like Frozen where Elsa can't use her powers around Anna anymore"
I laugh at that
"However, now it is time for you two to take the kingdom back!" She says
"Wait. If Lexa has powers too then why isn't she the heir to the throne? She is the eldest" I ask
She stands up and takes two steps forward.
"For you to understand all of this I need to return your memories to you" she says and she pauses as though saying these things hurt her "I must warn you, we took them from you for a reason. You were but a child, barely three years old. The trauma you went through..." She trails off
"I'm not a child anymore mother. I can handle it" I say and stand up and walk to her
She sighs and raises her hand
She looks at me waving her fingers for a second and then she juts her hand out which feels like she just pushed my brain back.
I fall onto my back
Everything happens in slow motion. I see myself falling and the moment I make impact with the ground it all comes back
My childhood
The palace
Although it was brief it was meaningful
I see how my parents used to tuck my sister and I in at night by reading us stories.
How we both always preferred the darker stories over the ones with the damsel in distress being saved
My mother used to tell me all the time
'You two won't need a knight in shining Armour. For the world will need saving from you'
I then remember how we used to play in the corridors and how the people of our kingdom seemed to have loved us
Then it goes black
Suddenly I see death
I see flames
I hear my parents and my sister calling for me but I can't see them
I see a man. I don't recognize him
"Don't do this" I hear mommy say from behind me "She's only a little girl. She's your niece for God's sake!"
I look at the man. Oh yes. He was mommy's brother
"These abominations are no nieces of mine! They deserve to go to hell for what they've done!" He responds, his voice full of malice
"What they've done? All they did was be born! They didn't ask to come into this world!" Mommy says
I hear daddy's voice and soon he and Alexa are by my side.
Daddy checks me for injuries then goes to join mommy
Lexa stays on the ground with me and hugs me
I hear daddy growl
"You will not be hurting my family!" He says in an upset voice
He lunges at my uncle but gets caught in some magic
"Don't you see?" He says holding my father up "Witches are the most powerful beings in the universe! The only beings stronger than us are the Lycans but we took care of them long back. Killed every last one of them!" He says laughing psychotically
"Fine! You think witches are the strongest beings?" Mommy says stepping forward "Then take me. Leave my mate and leave my daughters! Take me!"
"Oh dear big sister" he says and tosses daddy aside onto the ground "I don't give a shit about you. I want those two mongrels behind you"
He looks at us
"You will not take my daughters!" Mommy says and her hair starts floating around her
She pushes her hands out and uncle Graeme is sent flying to the opposite side of the field
He gets up and laughs
"Stupid big sister." She says and lightening fast he's in front of us and he grabs mommy's neck choking her
"Mommy!" I scream
"Don't you see? I've succumbed to the darkness. There is no being on this planet stronger than me." He pauses "Except those two" he says and points at us
"The prophecy foretold it and I will not have it!" He says "They must die, and if I have to go through you to do it, then so be it!"
He looks like he's about to hurt mommy
No!
"NOOOOO!!!!!!" I scream and I feel a wave emit from me.
I look up and see that uncle Graeme is on the floor again but so is mommy
I rush over to her and she's bleeding
Being a witch she doesn't heal fast like wolves do so this is bad
"You little bitch!" I hear uncle Graeme say
I turn around and look at him
Alexa comes to stand beside me
"You hurt daddy" I say
"You hurt mommy" Lexa says
Lexa looks at him and lifts him into the air with her powers and he starts yelling at her to put him down
"You little bitch! Put me down or you'll all suffer for this!" He says
"NO!" I say "You're mean uncle Graeme and mean people don't deserve to be here"
I look at him and I start thinking of how he hurt my mommy and my daddy
How he plans on hurting us
I look at him
"MEAN PEOPLE SHOULD GO AWAY!!!!" I yell and I hear uncle Graeme scream before I hear the sound of flesh tearing and I look up to see a light coming from within him
"Maddie no!" He yells "Alexa please stop!"
"Bye bye uncle Graeme" I say
I make a fist and his body explodes
The flashback ends
I look at my mother, she helps me off the floor
I get up
"I killed him" I say "I'm a monster"
"It was either him or the whole werewolf kingdom" she says "You and your sister did what I was too weak to do"
"He said 'the prophecy foretold it', what did that me?" I ask
"Ah yes. See there was two prophecies that we learnt of around the time of your birth." She says
"'Two daughters to the world will be born. From a witch and a wolf they will spawn. They will be the strongest of late, and no doubt their power will be great. The second however, should thread carefully. For life would not treat her so gently. If battles and victories will be won, then the ruler of all they will become'"
She stops and looks at me
"'Ruler of all?'" I ask "What does that mean and why should I thread carefully?"
"Baby, although the prophecy stated that you'd be strong beyond measure, it also meant that the trials life throws at you as well as the power might be too much for you and you could turn bad" she says
"OK so I still don't understand why I'm the heir?" I ask
"A little were-witch, So happy and bright. Born a princess, loved by all in sight.
A littler were-witch, happy as can be. Born a princess, with the power to decree.
Happy little were-witches, but there can only be one, what happens can not be undone
A monster, lost from his way. Hated and feared and resented day by day.
Incapable of love and possessing no soul
Which little were-witch will he prey on. The one he gets will be exalted with song
Careful though because together they will be, the most destructive pair you will ever see
The little were-witch chosen will then be, The Queen of the witch dynasty
And together they will rule over all the lands of corruption
As the King and Queen,of destruction"
"Xavier" I say suddenly breathless
"So wait, the prophecy didn't know which of us would be Xavier's mate?" I ask
"No" mother says "But it was seen that one of you would be. We didn't know that Xavier was the beast until he built the DarkThorn pack"
"Maddison!" I hear a voice but it sounds far away
"You have to go back now baby. Remember I love you" mother says
"Maddison!" The voice says again
"Wait mom I still have questions!" I say
"Later baby." She says "I love you"
I see her disappearing. Her figure starts spinning as though she's made of water and is being drained in a bathtub
I shoot up and open my eyes.
I see that I'm in bed. Xavier's bed.
I look over and he's sitting there looking at me
