No Matter What (A Dreammare Fic)

The two gods in charge of the balance of the multiverse have disappeared. Dream and Blueberry have been trying their best to hold the line against Nightmare and his lackeys, but when a fight goes south and Dream is near-fatally injured, what is Nightmare to do but take him to his castle? A self-indulgent Dreammare fic because I am a sucker for opposites attract and redemption without deeply changing who the person is. Cover by lysergdiethelphantomive on Tumblr! Although Dreamtale and all of its characters belong to Joku, this story relies heavily on fanon and headcanons. This is because I find the canon of Dreamtale to be unsatisfying. In my opinion, canon Dream is a mary-sue, Nightmare is a victim who lives to show how good his brother is, and all of the endings fail, in my eyes, to tie up the loose ends in the story in a satisfactory way. Remember, this is just my opinion! Similarly, most characters depicted in this story vary slightly from their respective canons, this has been down to fit the story better. I will try to adhere to canon as much as possible, though!
