"Henry, can I ask you a question?" I looked up at him through my long lashes. He stopped stroking my hair momentarily, and shifted so the storybook was tipping out of his lap. "You can ask me anything." I would have been surprised at the sincerity of his voice but what was one to expect from a best friend. "What do you think we'll be doing in two years?"
