I trembled when I felt his mouth near my ear. He was closer than I thought he was.

"Do you feel that, Beatrix?"

His voice was low, rough, and if I didn't know any better, I would think he was mad.

I stayed very still, not trusting myself to keep from doing something stupid. Turning around and letting him see how badly I wanted him to kiss me would be very, very stupid.

His lips grazed my ear, and then I felt his fingers slowly encircle my wrist.

"That's me restraining myself." There was a bite in his voice now.

"So don't tempt me, princess. You may not like the outcome."

Then, just like that. He was gone.

~~~~~~~
When Beatrix meets Ezra for the first time, she doesn't exactly make the best first impression by accusing him.
So when she is dared to kiss him, and she stupidly accepts, it sparks a flame for her that she cannot seem to control.
~~~~~~~

Ezra doesn't know what to make of the girl who first thinks he's the bad guy and then kisses him on a dare. Her beautiful sea-green eyes haunt him more than his nightmares, and letting her get away is not an option. Especially after he knows exactly what she tastes like, and when his heart decides it wants her.

But when family truths and hidden insecurities surface, it's up to them to wade through it.

They've both had their hearts broken before.

Will they be able to give each other a chance?

Guardians of Freecaster High #1 "That doesn't make any sense. You were the one who left me. You didn't care anymore." "If I didn't care, Alexis, then why is it I can't touch another girl unless I'm imagining you?" He pushes against me, trapping me against the wall, his minty beer breath skating across my lips. "J-Jace, you don't have t-to do this," I stammer, already losing the fight as my body melts against his. Jace's hand moves to trace his thumb across my bottom lip. "Why do I obsess about kissing you again? Why do memories of holding you still haunt me?" His face pinches in agony. "Why can't I do the right fucking thing and leave you alone?" _______________________________________________ Alexis 'Lexi' Young has four goals; pass her senior year of high school, buy her own wheels, get accepted to culinary school, and forget that her ex-boyfriend ever existed. Included in those new students is none other than Jace Hall, Lexi's ex, and his motorcycle riding, street fighting, off the wall friends. As for Jace, he'll forever regret breaking Lexi's heart, but it was either that or put her in the line of danger. Now that she's in arms reach, staying away is a lot harder to do. Especially when everything she does drives him crazy. But being part of the Guardians means trouble is never far behind, and getting close to Lexi again could put a target on her back. She wants to resist old temptations and protect her heart. He wants nothing more than to pull her close and keep her safe. [Book 2 in the Secret series] "That's not what I meant..." I chew on my lip. "Well, what the fuck did you mean then?" He shouts. "When I'm there I don't have to think about you!" I yell back. Wrong choice of words again, Sophia. I curse myself. His form immediately stands and he strides over to me, he is now inches away from me, his body is so close to mine that I am forced to take a couple of steps backwards. My back is pressed up against the window. Noah's breathing is deep but he speaks softly, "when you're there all I can think about is you." He raises his hand and tucks a strand of hair behind my ear. I step around him and head for the door, "uh I'm going to go to the hospital." I pick up my bag and rush out of the door leaving Noah in the room and saving myself from doing something I would definitely regret and make me change my mind about going back to Pennsylvania. ------------ 'I love you too,' were the last words Sophia heard before she was banished from her home city and she left without a second thought. Everyone's eyes are on Sophia, and they are looking for someone to blame. Will she return to her new life and forget about New York once and for all?
