As an autistic person myself, I decided to write what I think it would be like to be an autistic person in the world of X-men, and explore how I think the characters would perceive them. So this will be set during First Class, but the reader insert will be on the autism spectrum. I apologise in advance for any inaccuracies but this will be based on my own personal experiences. Please enjoy and I will try to be as accurate as I can to the X-men canon!! Your mutant power is that you can manipulate and create light and shadows. ⚠️possible trigger warnings⚠️ Ableism Sensory overloads Harmful stimming Implied abuse I do not own X-men!! Too Different to Love is a strong title - emotional, haunting, and it immediately sets the tone for a psychological family drama centered on isolation, misunderstanding, and sibling resentment. It works especially well for a story about an autistic girl because it reflects how she feels treated, not who she truly is. That gives the title emotional weight and makes readers curious about her perspective and what happened between the sisters.

Fresh into her last semester of high school, Len is looking forward to three things: spending time with her recent close-friend-turned-girlfriend, completing a summer road trip with her brother Brendon, and finally, getting the hell out of her hometown, to an out-of-state college where she'll be able to reinvent herself as whoever she would be if her Catholic mom wasn't always breathing down her neck. But then Brendon commits suicide, leaving behind a cell phone with a series of messages meant for Len alone. To unlock the messages, and find whatever Brendon wanted her to find, Len must confront painful memories - and painful truths about herself. *DO NOT READ if you are triggered by suicide or suicidal ideation* (This is a very very very rough draft.)

My dissertation was rated a 1:1 an it's especially helpful to read if you identify as female and have a hard time trying to get loved ones and friends to believe you have autism. That's actually a fundamental basis of my research. I knew from 12 but didn't get diagnosed until 17 because of those unfortunate social biases. I'm sharing this because I needed this when I was growing up and by "this" I mean something that is not too hard to digest, but accurate and educational, because sometimes understanding is all you need to stay afloat. My original story's title "I won't force you to love me" is kind of confrontational, so it should be interpreted as "I will not be a different person from the one I am, just to gain your approval". There are many more insights that might be added to the end, which couldn't fit in the 10-12k word limit. I'm just so excited to finally share it all, since I'm finally passed the assessment phase.

Read through episodes of Lotta's life! She got falsely diagnosed with ADHD, yet somehow feels different- How will she resolve the conflict of sometimes disturbing therapies, destructive thoughts, being a „difficult child" and gaining independence as she grows up? Please note: 1) I am not a native English writer. If you find any mistakes, feel free to comment and correct, I don't take it personal. Help me to develop my skills in writing, if you feel like it! 2) Any questions about personal backgrounds are absolutely allowed to be asked by personal message- Please refrain from asking in comments, I won't answer personal things where everyone can see them. 3) Please tell me if anything bothers you in general, no matter whether logical mistakes or a false depiction of a group of persons you belong to or know better! 4) Lotta will be depicted in three stages of her life to portray her way into adulthood, so don't expect a huge story that revolves around a small child!

Xue Ge, delinquent transfer student, just wanted to score the most beautiful girl in class. Because, well, he's 16. Jennifer, said beauty, wanted to hurl Xue Ge into outer space. She had eyes for someone else. Matthias, said someone else, has autism. We're not sure what he was thinking. Sorry, Matt. Their emerging feelings for each other threatens to tear them apart. So now all Xue Ge wants is to keep his two best friends. But a green van rolling into school threatens to take even that away. This is a slightly different Malaysian love story. Patricia is trying. That's it. She's just trying, at everything, all the time. Trying to succeed at schoolwork despite being pretty average, intelligence-wise. Trying to maintain her friendships despite always being busy. Trying to keep the flat neat, since her dad's always working and her mum's busy with a million and one other things. Trying to make time to see a boyfriend who, what with all the other things she has to do, is quite frankly barely on her radar at this point. And especially trying to learn to love the little sister always foisted on her- trying to love her unconditionally, without imagining if she was different, or, more to the point, not different at all. Rosemary is muddling through life as best she can- which is not terribly well. Schoolwork isn't a problem, as none of her teachers have ever expected any kind of academic output from her. Friendships are difficult, because no matter how much she tries she can't seem to form any. Her one (self-assigned) chore is to keep all of her toys neat, clean, and orderly. Her biggest problem is family- she always finds herself struggling to please but not quite sure how to. Neither Rosemary nor Patricia are a big fan of change. But change is inevitable, and when Rosemary is sent away from home for a week, their dynamic shifts. Patricia is no longer the centre of Rosemary's universe, and Patricia is no longer willing to sacrifice her life for her sister's sake. But as Patricia loses her sister's trust, and Rosemary seems to get more wildly out of control, they have to decide what in their lives they hold dearest. Is Patricia ready to make a choice between her carefully cultivated image and her beloved nightmare of a sister? Is Rosemary able to avoid choosing between her family and the only person who she's ever understood?
