He's a typical bully, calling you names, pushing you into lockers, pushing you in general, sometimes making you do his work, etc.. He bullies most of the kids, but you're his main target. You don't know why. You're kind of used to it since it's been going on since the middle of last year. (Sophomore year). Y/N moved schools in March of last year due to your mom getting a better job opportunity. Your first day, you bumped into a tall, goth kid. You apologized profusely, and he just scoffed and moved past you, shoving your shoulder in the process. You have 2 classes with him, 3rd period English and 7th period Math. Y/N's home life isn't the best. Your dad left your mom about 5 years ago cause he found out she was cheating on him. You were devastated cause you were a lot closer to him than her mom. You never got along with your mom. Only a month after their divorce, your mom got a boyfriend, who is a total piece of shit. He usually comes home drunk, which causes him to get abusive. Your mom is barely home. She's either at work or at a bar/partying. When she is home, she's usually sleeping. When she's not, she's always picking fights with Y/N.

For the past 2 weeks, you've been checking your back every second and making sure to lock everything. You're scared he might find you. Eventually, you got hired at a job. Tomorrow is your first day at Superstar Daycare. You don't really like kids, but the pay is great. You weren't told that much in the email. Just that you'll be working with an animatronic, named Sundrop. But your job is mostly at the counter, so you won't have to interact with him that often. One big thing that convinced you to apply was that you won't have human coworkers. Maybe 1 or 2 here and there, but they'll all be in their own area, like Fazer Blast, Monty Golf, etc.. You hate being around people. You hate talking to them. 1st, you're not very good at it, and 2nd, people just suck in general. Too much attitude.

They were the kind of love people warned you about; the kind that hurt, healed, and somehow always found its way back. No matter how many times they broke apart, they never stayed gone for long. They were each other's person. Their forever. Until forever ended. Forever doesn't always look the way we imagine.

I had endured his malice and silent treatment for a long time. The kind that makes you question yourself, because on the outside, everyone thinks he is a friendly and harmless man. Yes... pregnant me. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I don't remember everything clearly anymore, but I remember the feeling..panic, urgency, and that strong "I need to leave NOW" energy. The funny part? I didn't even use the gate. I jumped the fence. Let me say it again slowly: I was pregnant... and I climbed a fence... at night... like someone escaping a movie scene. 😂 I didn't pass through the gate because I didn't want the neighbors to see me leaving. So instead of walking like a normal human being, I chose the "professional escape route." I ran like a thief. Even now, as I write this, I'm trying to understand what exactly pushed me to that point... but memory only gives me fragments. All I know is that night something changed in me. Not just my situation, but me. Because sometimes, you don't realize how strong (or dramatic 😂) you are until life puts you in situations you never imagined. Today, I can laugh about it. Back then, I was just surviving the moment. And maybe that's what life really is sometimes... Quiet decisions that change everything.
