Sean and Finn Tierney, two brothers living in a small town in Iowa, face the difficulties of growing up during the great depression while their family struggles to hold on to a business and a farm. As the world edges closer to war, they choose different career paths. Meanwhile, their uncle Deklen stumbles into a dangerous situation that will change his life and the lives of all the members of his family. Both brothers join the military but in very different roles. Many little known stories of World War Two are revealed in the war exploits of the Tierney brothers. After the war, the brothers continue their lives, one as a military officer and the other as a farmer. In this book, the reader will discover some of the untold stories of the great depression, world war two and the post-war period. It was a fun and challenging book to write. My research took me in many different directions just as the story will take the reader in many different directions.

June 6, 1944: After the invasion of Normandy a group of fellow soldiers, including myself, decided to scout a nearby town in hopes of finding innocents. Though we did not find any civilians, we did find trouble. The platoon was slaughtered and I was left to fend for myself against an entire battalion. Wounded, immobilized, and with little experience I will find myself in the hardest situation of my life. My survival will be determined on the pain I am forced to endure. May God be with me.

After entering the BTS army fandom, I was inspired to do more, or better yet, not give up on my dreams just because they seem impossible. One of the reasons I became Army is because I was lost and BTS gave me the courage to be happy and to change myself and my ways. I still struggle every day and honestly, it's tough to do anything sometimes, but I want to become better and be as hardworking as them, as I once was, but I'm lost in an ocean of outside expectation and fear of failure and disappointment. In an attempt to become better, I've decided to take a chance but I just have so many dreams and goals that I lose myself, I invented my own system cause everybody else's doesn't work for me, I have different needs so it's normal. And inspired by a tiktok about a girl, who said she divided her years to make achieving her goals easier, I decided to do the same and twick a bit at it and use Agust D's concept of D-Day and turn it mine. I'm not saying that you should do the same as me. I see how that has failed me before, but ajusting it to yourself. I'm Ellie but you're a different person, had a different childhood and have different struggles. In this book, I'll talk about why AgustD had a big Influence which is a bit personal but it really aplys to us all in a way.
