Żył w pokoju o białych ścianach. Umieścił tam obraz przedstawiający cierpienie. A kiedy żył, wpatrywał się w ten portret; spoglądał na białą ścianę pokrywającą każdy zakątek jego bytu.

Merice Achtridel is a spoiled daughter of a count. She lost her mother in her early childhood and grew up with her father. Everything seems normal until she's been introduced to a woman with two daughters close to her age. Count Achtridel remarries and on Merice's 12th summer, her father dies. Her stepmother, Rodelfe, becomes the new Countess while she, the late Count's daughter is kept hidden as a maid in the master's bedroom where the portrait of the late Countess is in. These bring changes to Merice's life. She becomes desperate but a chance is given to her by her godmother on the day of the Crown Prince's birthday banquet. This is the beggining of a huge whirlwind of emotions and struggles that will unknowingly destroy the women of Achtridel.

This has the same plot as the first Seven Things that I posted. This was written in another way because I submitted it as my short story entry in one of my subject in high school. Same story kinda different ending. Enjoy :)

We are all perceptive based on the background we came from and have a perception of sensing deceit however, the ego plays a grandeur role in our lives and the moment it is bruised in any way, all hell breaks loose!
