This is intended as a rewrite for my old story called Magician's Magic. I began this one wanting it to be more realistically imaginable and immersive. It's meant as a friendship fiction. I don't intend to have any sort of romance between the characters. This is more so meant as a discovery and self growth and learning story.

After Chris' famous "conscious uncoupling" from Gwyneth he is an emotional mess. But not for the reason everyone thinks. Chris will never tell anyone the true reason for his split from his wife though, he could never do that. The only thing that gives Chris a spark of hope is writing music. But his bandmates are getting more and more worried about him as it's been months since Chris' split and he doesn't seem to get any better. Eventually Chris' bad emotional state turns out to be a threat for the entire band. Chris knows the only way to end his pain is to reveal the truth, but that is a really hard thing to do. After all the truth could mean the breakdown of everything that is important to him.

Chris suffers. "The loneliness will never fucking go away", he thinks. "Because i keep messing up everything and everyone will run away from me." But Jonny will never run away from him. AU: Chris and Jonny don't have wives/kids. You can interpret that as post-divorce period for Chris, or just as another terrible breakup, fictitious or nonmt.
