Far in the snowy mountains of the north, hidden inside a deep stone cave, lies the Royal Dragon Nest. The cave is warmed by the slow heat of dragon fire and guarded by the most powerful dragon alive.
The Dragon King, a massive black dragon, and the Dragon Queen, a wise grey dragon, have waited their entire lives for one miracle. Royal dragons can only lay one egg in their lifetime.
Now, resting in the center of the nest on a bed of warm stones and silver feathers, lies a single enormous egg.
Inside the egg sleeps Princess Rosalyn, whom her parents already lovingly call Rosie.
She is the future of the dragon kingdom, their only child and the most precious treasure in the north. Until she hatches, the king guards the cave entrance while the queen keeps the egg warm beneath her wings.
When Rosie finally hatches, she will be small and helpless. Baby dragons cannot fly yet and cannot hunt. They must drink their mother's milk and grow strong before they can spread their wings.
For now, the great kingdom of dragons waits for the day the royal egg begins to crack
