"I swear to the Goddess if this is Jace..." Chris growls, reluctantly letting me go and stalking towards the door.
"Chris!" I hiss, throwing my towel at his naked body and scurrying under the blankets. He rolls his eyes but wraps it around his waist as the knocking comes once more. Chris doesn't wait for another knock, whipping the door open and nearly sucking the man in on the other side of it.
"F-for you H-highness," he stammers, dropping his gaze. Chris cranes his neck to the side, peering at the cart before relaxing.
"Thanks?"
The man practically runs away ,leaving Chris standing there confused in a towel to bring in the cart. He shrugs and wheels it in, locking the door behind him.
"You make a sexy waiter," I tease, devouring the sight before me. Chris quirks a brow at me but lets my comment slide, pulling off the cover. The smell of pasta hits me like a brick wall and has me salivating instantly.
"Dinner is apparently served, penne, garlic bread, and... I don't know what this dessert is?" He says, eyeing up the small side dishes of some sort of puff pastry.
He grabs the bowl and brings it to bed, settling me back against his chest as he surfs for something to watch on TV. Before long, he throws on Lucifer and we eat snuggled up together and for the first time in a long time things feel simple. Feeling stuffed, my eyelids grow heavy and I fall asleep, content and wrapped up with my mate.
-----
Sunlight dances in my sleepy vision, but lips on my skin are what wake me from my slumber. A breathy moan slips past my parted lips as Chris shifts his attention from my collar bone to my breast.
In an instant, my fire's relit as I squirm under his skillful touch. Tossing my head back, I thread my fingers through his raven locks, earning a growl of approval.
"Morning, beautiful," he whispers between kisses.
My core tightens as his lips leave my sensitive peak and travel across my stomach. He settles between my thighs, and spreads me wide for him. Each breath fanning across my skin raises goosebumps in its wake.
"Hell of a way to wake up SIRE," I tease, locking eyes with him. The lust and hunger swimming in them is enough to make me weak in the knees if I wasn't already on my back.
"Shit!" Chris hisses, jumping straight out of bed. His playful smirk is replaced by a wide-eyed, panicked expression.
"What's going o-"
Chris cuts me off mid-question by throwing his sweater and boxers at me while he hops around awkwardly trying to pull sleep pants on.
"Quick, get dressed!" He whispers urgently.
My heart races as I bounce and shimmy the clothes on. Just as I slide the boxers up over my hips, there's a knock at the door and someone tries the handle.
"What's going on?!" I whisper harshly, eyes locked on him.
"Chris? Jess?" Ethan calls from the other side of the door as Chris strides over to open it.
'You have got to be kidding me,' I groan. 'Jace can't spend any more time with him!'
With a final look to make sure I'm dressed, Chris opens the door, revealing a grinning Ethan. His messy brown hair cascades over his forehead and into his golden eyes.
"What's up, bud?" Chris asks, trying to sound relaxed and failing miserably as his voice is strained.
"I brought breakfast in bed," he grins, hoisting up a large tray.
