"Did you think that you could just run away from your pack, from your mate, and there wouldn't be any consequences." I was afraid of this. I didn't know how to react and I didn't know what exactly to think either. This was one of those scenarios where you just sat and said nothing.

"I mean really. You ran for like two hours before we caught you." No shit. I wasn't exactly proud of this whole thing. I really wanted to say thanks for saying it. Not like I hadn't heard it a few times already. That wouldn't go over well though.

"Most of the other girls got to their mark and just waited for us. But no, you just had to keep on running. You just had to stress your already overstressed body, didn't you?" Now it's time for the big health speech again.

"Don't mind her. She's still upset because somebody dropped a house on her sister." I was sitting here, mouth agape. That comment shut the doctor up pretty quick.

I loved Luna Aurelia. From the moment I met her, all of a few hours ago, I knew I would love her. She was insanely blunt about everything but had this way of joking around it that made it a bit less insulting. I mean, a lot of what she said was still pretty insulting, but she was trying not to be. I think. Maybe...

"Just because I chastise people for making poor decisions, does not mean I'm a witch!" Dr. Santos and the Luna went back and forth about the former's current need to scold me like a pup.

Her scolding wasn't entirely without merit. If I had to be honest.

After I took off running, my wolf's added speed and strength quite literally propelled me forward. It was kind of unreal how fast I was able to travel, but I did it. The entire time I was talking to my wolf and asking her where this had come from because she had seemed pretty weak and out of it for a long while.

She surprised the shit out of me for sure.

I've been waiting for you to decide you were ready. For some time in fact. The first time that he hurt us, by being with that other female, I knew it was only the start. It's only one way or another with that pack. His wolf was distanced from me. I think due to his human's interference. Then he began to get worse. So I starting hoarding my strength. Waiting for when you would be ready to do, I don't know, something. Every time you pushed me back and hid me away, I was pulling that energy and rage for a reason.

I had always been taught that our wolves were extremely intelligent. So much so that it confused the crap out of most as to why they would let their human halves behave so stupidly. The things that they said to us sometimes, were otherworldly. Sometimes they were just exceptionally insightful though too.

My wolf had commentary for those thoughts too.

We're here to live with you, along with you. Guide you when you ask or need it. But if you don't want our guidance or fight it, then we will not offer. If you block us, we will only fight so much. At least most of us. We're also not infallible. Even some wolf spirits are corrupt, as I think you've seen.

We had a lot more conversation while I was running. So much so that I lost track of time and missed the meet spot. I kept running past where we were supposed to meet but luckily, the group that was sent for me still caught me. By that point, the pain from the day before and the long run had caught up to me and I was in a world of hurt.

Luna Aurelia was inside their pack territory, waiting for us. Meeting her and explaining why I looked like death on a cracker was kind of fun. Being taken to the clinic, though, that is what began the slow torturous scolding that I had been receiving from Dr. Santos.

Starting from the minute I was placed in her care; she had made sure I was aware of the healing I needed to do. Both she and the Luna had explained that the first thing, besides ensuring that I was safely tucked away in their pack, was to make sure any injuries I had were healed. All the physical at least. The mental, they explained, were harder wounds to get over if one ever did.
