He observed her face closely and he clenched his jaw when he found a bruise forming near her lips and forehead. Dried blood. Swollen eyes. Like she has cried for hours.

He just wanted to kill the bastard beside her and wanted to hug the fragile looking form which looked more exhausted and weak.

He felt like crying. Why? Because the woman in front of her was trembling in fear. Not in pain but in panic and fear and why won't she.

She thought he was going to hurt her again but she was wrong

Author's Pov...

Massimo took in a shaky breath. He shouldn't get weak or it will give Elijah the satisfaction he wants. Moreover he doesn't want Ariel to get hurt. She was already so exhausted.

He looked at Elijah with cold eyes and started speaking "Here are the files now let Her go" Forwarding his hand he showed him the files.

Elijah looked at the file for some minutes before loosing the tight grip on Ariel's arm. Ariel sighed in relief feeling her muscles relax. However she winced when the pain of the bruise suddenly shot through her arm.

Elijah shot Ariel a glare before commanding her to not move from her place. She stood their with clammy hands and sweaty face. She knows what is happening but if Massimo gives all his wealth for her to this bastard then she would feel guilty forever.

In these moments the mind doesn't works properly and same goes with Ariel . She has slowly started to think that it was her fault that Massimo is loosing his everything.

His property, his buisness, his money just for her and because of her. Only if she wouldn't have ran from the mansion this wouldn't have happened.

She was brought out of the thoughts when elijah took the papers from Massimo. She wanted to say something but no voice came out of her throat.

A moment of silence surrounded by air which was broken by a angry growl.

Her head snapped towards Elijah who was raging like a bull. Confused she looked at Massimo to find him smirking.

"These bloody papers are fake" He seethed and her eyes widened in surprise. Massimo has planned this all and it was just going according to him. Now the last step was left and this Elijah would be dead or so he thought.

Just as Massimo expected Elijah took his gun out. Ariel covered her mouth with her hands in fear and terror.

A shot echoed through the silent land breaking its silence followed by a agonizing scream. Ariel closed her eyes but in moment she was engulfed by a warm body. She froze.

Slowly she looked up to find Massimo standing fine and looking down at her with soft eyes. She bursted into tears and hugged his torso tightly while he kept Carresing her hair mumbling soothing words in her ears.

Yes Massimo wasn't shot. It was Elijah who was shot. Alessandro was here even before Elijah came. Hiding behind a safe spot he arranged all his tools with his gun pointing at the specific person to shoot.

And as soon as Elijah took out gun Alessandro found the right moment before shooting. He didn't wanted the matter to slip off his hands and before anymore big mess could take place he shot Elijah on his shoulder
