Hardin's POV
I wonder what's going on in Tessa's apartment. Is God finally on my side? Who is this woman standing inside Tessa's apartment with a smug grin on her face? And why does Stephan looks like he is going to cry.
Oh My God. I hope she broke up with him. Either way I don't like Stephan. He can now walk the fuck out Tessa's life so I can step in and love her the way she deserves to be loved.
I know I have been an ass towards her. Giving her mixed signals and fighting with her for no reason. But I have finally accepted my feelings towards her.
"What's going on here?" My voice boomed in her apartment, capturing everyone's attention towards me.
"None of your business." The woman standing near the couch said. If she wasn't a girl I would have wiped that smug look off her face right at the moment but a man never raise his hands on a girl, no matter how much she provoke him.
"Shut up." This was Tessa.
"What are you doing here, Hardin?" She asked.
"Umm," I scratched the back of my head as i tried to come up with the reason i was here.
"I-I was just passing by and thought it would be nice if i could stop by."
She narrowed her eyes as if accusing me of lying but decided to let it pass for now.
"With flowers?" Stephan questioned.
Some of us have manners Stephan. Not everyone barge in unannounced with empty hands. I wanted to sass back but decided to control the Sophia in me and say something normal.
"My mom taught me not to visit someone's house empty handed and I saw the bouquet shop just below and they reminded me of Tessa so I bought them for her."
Tessa's POV
Out of all the time, Hardin choose to come at this time. When everything is so messed up in my life and I am exhausted. This guy really does have a timing.
And let's not forget about the smart mouth he have. Gives me a headache.
"Katherine and Stephan I suppose you guys were going to leave." Stephan looked a bit disappointed with the sternness in my voice but I let it pass. He stepped and kissed me on my forehead. I felt nothing. No warmth of his kiss neither the bliss feeling of his hands around my waist.
"I will see you soon." He whispered. I half smiled and nodded. I doubt that's gonna happen. I don't see us getting back together any time soon.
Stephan glared at Katherine as they walked out of my apartment in a queue. I sighed and turned to look at Hardin, who was standing silently in his place.
"What do you want?"
I don't have the energy to mend things with him and argue again. I am done being his punching bag.
"I-I wanted to apologize."
God not again. I am done with his fake apologies. He can keep them in his pocket.
"I am doing this bullshit right now, Hardin. If you didn't notice, i just broke up with my finance so please leave me alone." I turned around and began to walk in my room when he stopped me again.
"Tessa, please hear me out."
I stayed silent, urging him to finish it off.
"I love you, Tessa."
And my heart thumped in my chest. It became hard to suck in breath, my lungs lacked the oxygen yet I wasn't able to breath.
"I love you so damn much, Tessa. All this time without you is slowly killing me. Seeing you with Stephan hurts so much. I can't imagine you with someone else." His voiced cracked a bit.
