I never knew what my life would hold. I always had lofty dreams of starting my own company and seeing what heights I could achieve. My life was always planned out to the letter—what I was going to wear, my agenda for the day, where I was going to school—nothing was left up to chance. Fate, however, does not care about ambitions you have, nor does it give any regard to who you dream you will become. It is up to fate to change your perspective, your course, and most substantially your life.

My life was never meant to be perfect, not with the childhood that I had at least. But when things are going well and you have everything that you could have ever hoped for, that is when fate rears its head to turn your world upside down. It forces you to see yourself in lights that you don't want to. It forces you to do things that you never dreamed possible. Better yet—it uncovers things that should have stayed dead and hidden.

Yet after all these years of existence in a perfect world, fate knew how to bring things crashing down into a beautiful mess. A mess so full of passion, fire, and utter destruction that my life would never be the same after it—or after him.

This journey of rediscovery brought more than just my true self to light. Ghosts that should have stayed buried, somehow always get brought into that light too. He should have stayed out of sight, but I guess God knew what I needed. I never imagined that chasing the ghost, would lead me straight back to him.
