Let's start,

Meera was quietly fixing the bed, her hands smoothing the creases as her mind wandered. She then carefully took out Aditya's clothes from the wardrobe-his shirt perfectly ironed, his watch placed near the cufflinks, everything arranged with silent precision.

Just then, a knock sounded.
Meera opened the door and found Roop standing there.

"Bhabhi, what should I cook for breakfast?" Roop asked cheerfully.

Meera gave a polite smile but her tone was distant. "I don't know... whatever you feel like making. And yes, don't make anything for Mr. Singhania."

Roop blinked. "Why not, bhabhi?"

Meera replied flatly, "He's fasting today."

Roop's eyes narrowed in confusion. "Since when did he start fasting?"

Meera calmly responded, "From today."

Roop still stood there, hesitant. "Okay... I'll go then..."

Meera nodded and gently shut the door without another word.

A moment later, Aditya stepped out of the bathroom, water still dripping from his hair, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist. And her towel around his neck. His gaze instantly found Meera, who was now at the dressing table, adjusting the pleats of her saree. She hadn't noticed him yet.

Aditya leaned against the wall with a sly smile, watching her quietly.

As Meera turned and caught sight of him, her eyes widened in shock. She gasped and immediately turned around, covering her face with her palm.

"What happened?" Aditya asked with a teasing grin, slowly walking toward her.

Meera didn't turn back. "Put your clothes on. Right now," she said, flustered.

Aditya chuckled, amused. "Won't you help me today?"

"Mr. Singhania, don't try to cross your limits. Just get dressed, fast," she snapped without looking at him.

"Oho, my Ziddi baccha laid out clothes for me with so much love, I'm touched," he teased further, glancing at the neatly arranged set on the bed.

"Don't get too excited," she muttered. "You won't even get that from tomorrow."

Still turned away, her voice was sharp but her cheeks were burning red.

Aditya laughed softly, then began getting dressed. After a while, he said with a pout, "Okay then... but at least help me with my tie?"

Irritated, Meera turned around and glared at him. "It's just a tie. You'll survive if it stays off. I'm not helping. Figure it out yourself."

Then she pointed at the door, her tone firm. "Now, please leave this room."

Aditya blinked. "What?"

"I said what I said. I don't repeat myself," Meera warned. "Get out. And before you do... tell me how much cash do you have right now?"

He frowned in confusion. "What?"

"I mean, where's your wallet?" she clarified, folding her arms.

Aditya scratched his head. "Uhh... my wallet..."

Meera rolled her eyes. "Nasha utra nahi hai... Utaru?" (You're still not sober? Should I help you sober up?)

He smirked and stepped forward. "Please do..."

She stepped back instinctively, only for her back to nearly hit the wardrobe. But before that could happen, Aditya quickly wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her toward him, his grip firm and familiar.

"I'M READY! Help me get rid of this hangover," he whispered near her ear, his breath warm against her skin.

Meera quickly pushed him away. "Enough, Mr. Singhania! Just tell me where your wallet is and how much money is in it."

He walked to the table, picked up his wallet and handed it to her. "Sorry, baccha... there's no cash in it."

She flipped it open. "Then what's in it?"

"Just my cards... and two cheques," he said casually.

Meera raised a brow. "How much?"

"One is for 28 lakhs... the other for 42 lakhs," he replied with zero hesitation.

Meera paused for a second and looked at him. Her mind wandered-"Hey Kanha... he's answering everything without even asking why I'm asking. How strange. Never mind..."

"Okay. Give me the 42 lakh cheque," she said.

Without a word, he handed it over. Then he walked to the mirror and began fixing his hair, humming a tune under his breath.

Meera watched him silently for a moment before asking, "Mr. Singhania... aren't you going to ask why I want this cheque?"

Aditya glanced at her reflection and smiled. "You got the cheque, right? Then be happy. I just want to see you happy. If you want, you can take both. All yours."

"But still, I'll tell you," she said softly. "Because I'm not a cheater or a liar like you. I want to donate this to the temple."

Aditya paused for a moment, genuinely impressed. "Wow, baccha. That's... that's amazing. That's so you."

"And now," Meera said sharply, "please leave the room."

Aditya sighed. "Still mad at me?"

"You think just giving me a cheque will fix everything?" she asked, her voice tight. "You think I'll melt? That's your misunderstanding. Now get out. And don't come back into this room again."

Aditya looked at her with guilt softening his eyes. "Baccha... I'm sorry, na."

Meera didn't even glance at him. Her voice was firm, her jaw tight. "No sorry. Please leave the room."

He looked for a second, hoping she'd look at him, give him something... but she didn't. Silent and unmoved, she stood there.

He walked out quietly, closing the door behind him.

Meera remained still. Her eyes were on the floor, but her heart was loud inside her chest. Her fingers trembled slightly as she clutched her saree's pallu.

-

Aditya made his way to Kabir's room and knocked.

The door opened, and Kabir, surprised, said, "Boss... you?"

Aditya's face was unreadable. "You said you had something to talk about."

Kabir nodded, but looked a bit distracted. "Yes, Boss. I was just heading to talk to Isha's security team... but before that, you have to come with me to bhabhi's college. It's important."

Aditya raised a brow. "Okay. Fine."
Then after a brief pause, he asked, "And... what I said to you that day. Did you think about it?"

Kabir looked away. "Boss... please. Don't do this. Don't force me. I don't want anything that could put you in danger. Please... I won't go forward with it."

Aditya stepped in, gently took Kabir by the shoulder and guided him to the sofa. He made Kabir sit down and then sat cross-legged on the floor in front of him, something he rarely did.

He placed his hand gently over Kabir's. Kabir looked alarmed.
"Boss, what are you doing?"

Aditya's tone dropped to a whisper. "Shh... Kabir. Listen to me. I just want your happiness. And if that means I have to take a risk, I'll do it. I'm not afraid of danger. I swear, even if someone tries to attack me, I'll face it."

He looked into Kabir's eyes. "But you... you shouldn't hold yourself back out of fear. I know what you're feeling. I know what you want. Don't let your moment pass. Think fast-before it's too late."

Kabir clenched his jaw. "Boss, why won't you understand? You don't even realize how much danger is building around you. It's not just you anymore... others will get involved. Don't take this lightly."

Aditya smiled faintly, but there was pain in his eyes. "I'll handle it. I always do. Now I'm going downstairs. Come when you're ready."

Kabir watched him leave, a storm of emotions written across his face.

-

Back in her room, Meera sat near the window, staring outside. Her mind wasn't calm.

"I have to go to the temple today. I really need to..."

She sighed and stood up, adjusting the pleats of her saree.

"But should I go alone? No... I'll take Mr. Singhania with me. Maybe God will knock some sense into him too."

She walked downstairs.

Aditya was sitting on the living room sofa, eyes glued to his phone, one leg crossed over the other, his expression unreadable.

Meera approached him and said, "Mr. Singhania... I need to go to the temple."

He looked at her with a smile and replied, "Kabir is coming in a bit. Go with him. And please... take the security team with you."

She frowned deeply. "You are my husband, not Kabir, I'll go with you."

She expected resistance. She thought he'd deny, argue, maybe say he was busy.

But instead, Aditya stood up immediately and simply said, "Alright."

She looked at him, stunned. For once, he didn't push back.

He started walking toward the door. Just then, his mother, standing at the stairs. Her eyes widened in pure shock.

She rushed down and looked at him outside.

She turned to Meera, whispering in ear, "He never goes to the temples... he doesn't even believe in God."

Meera giggled softly. "Maa... but he believes in me, doesn't he?"

His mother smiled as Meera winked playfully. They share the knowing look. Both of them broke into quiet laughter.

She looks at Meera and says, "Tu mere bete ka majak bna rahi hai, beta." (So you're making fun of my sun now.)

Meera quickly replies with a sweet smile, "Sorry maa."

Just then Kabir entered the hallway. "Bhabhi, where's Boss?"

Meera glanced toward the door. "He's outside."

Then she turned to Maa again. "I'll be back soon after visiting the temple."

She and Kabir walked out.

Aditya was already standing near the car, sunglasses on, hands in his pockets, looking cool and composed like nothing had happened. But the slight curve on his lips hinted he was waiting.

Meera walked with a straight face, no smile, no softness in her gaze. He noticed, of course.

As she approached, he walked over and opened the passenger door for her like a gentleman.

"I'll sit in the back," she said immediately.

Aditya gave Kabir a quick signal.

Kabir smiled and said, "Bhabhi, you sit in the front. I'll sit in the back. If you sit with me, you'll get bored. Boss can at least entertain you."

Aditya smirked. "Please... have a seat."

Meera threw a sharp glare at both of them... but sat in the front seat anyway.

As she adjusted her saree, Aditya leaned in-without warning-and gently tucked her pallu inside, his fingers brushing her waist. Meera's breath hitched, but she didn't say a word.

He walked around, got into the driver's seat, and fastened his seatbelt.

Then he turned to Kabir and said, "Kabir, hurry up. Let's go."

-

Aditya started the car and glanced sideways at Meera, hoping to catch her eyes - but she stubbornly looked the other way. Her silence pricked more than any words could. Behind them, Kabir sat casually, eyes fixed on his phone screen, pretending to be unaware of the tension in the air.

Aditya sighed and muttered with a half-smile, "Kabir... you're not even sparing a glance today? Fine. If you don't want to talk, that's okay - take your time. But at least look at me once."

Kabir suppressed a chuckle, hiding it behind a fake cough. He knew very well that Aditya's words weren't really for him. The message was meant for the girl in the passenger seat - who sat like a queen, draped in her silence.

Meera, unaffected, kept staring out the window, eyes blank, lips pressed together.

Aditya leaned back in his seat, shaking his head. "Kabir, yaar, so much attitude these days... unbelievable." Then, dropping the act, he said sweetly, "Jaan, forget Kabir. I'm honestly not even interested in talking to him. You tell me - which temple are we going to?"

Still, Meera said nothing.

Aditya frowned lightly but kept his tone soft, "Ziddi baccha..., if you won't tell me, how will I know? I'm not your chuglipartner (her Kanha ji) to read your mind."

After a moment, Meera replied in a clipped tone, "There's a Kanha ji temple nearby. I want to go there."

Aditya nodded casually. "Alright then. Let's go."

A gentle silence followed as the car moved through the narrow streets. Finally, they reached the temple. As Aditya stepped out, he looked up and squinted. "Jaan, it's really hot today. Why don't we come in the evening instead? Less crowds, less sun..."

Before he could finish, Meera turned sharply and glared at him. Without saying a word, she pulled the edge of her saree's pallu and handed it to him, "Cover your face with this."

Caught off guard, Aditya chuckled under his breath and obeyed like a scolded child. Kabir, watching from behind, bit back his laughter.

They walked inside the temple courtyard, sunlight pouring down, yet Meera walked with grace and purpose. She suddenly turned and said, "It's not even that sunny here. Now please return my pallu."

Aditya slowly removed the pallu from his face and smiled at her - the kind that reached his eyes.

Just then, an elderly priest stepped forward.

"Meera bitiya! You've come after so long," he said warmly, joining his hands.

Meera offered a respectful smile. "Yes, Pandit ji. Namaste."

She subtly nudged Aditya, gesturing for him to bow down. Without protest, Aditya bent and touched the priest's feet. Then she looked back and gave a tiny signal to Kabir, who obediently followed.

"Pandit ji," Meera said politely, "I wanted to make a donation."

She handed over an envelope with a cheque.

The priest unfolded it and gasped slightly. "Meera beta, this is quite a large amount."

Meera's expression didn't change. Calmly, she said, "Pandit ji, I only have one small request. Please offer a prayer to Kanha ji... that he gives some wisdom to my husband."

Aditya raised an eyebrow but smiled as she continued. "Tell him to bless my pati dev with sadbuddhi.

And muttered under her breath,
"Because God knows, this man lies more fluently than he breathes."

Kabir pressed his lips together, trying not to laugh.

The priest chuckled lightly and blessed them both. "May you both always stay happy together."

He handed them prasad and went near the idol.

Meera then moved closer to the idol of Kanha ji. The soft chime of temple bells echoed in the air as she folded her hands, standing in front of the deity with closed eyes. Aditya and Kabir stood a few steps behind, watching silently.

With eyes still shut, Meera whispered under her breath, "Hey Kanha... if you're listening today, please plant just a little bit of truth in this man's heart. He lies with so much confidence - it's practically an art form now. And if possible, give him a little bit of humanity too... because it seems like that's completely missing from his system."

Aditya, amused, tilted his head and said teasingly, "Jaan, are we done? I really have some urgent work..."

But Meera didn't even turn. "We're not going anywhere," she replied flatly.

She called the priest and asked him to perform a proper pooja. As the rituals began, the priest asked, "Beta, what is your husband's name?"

Meera glanced at Aditya and then looked back at the priest. "Aditya Singhania," she said clearly.

The priest blinked in surprise, looked at Aditya, and asked, "You're the owner of that famous diamond showroom, aren't you? We've never seen your face before, but we've heard so much about you."

Aditya gave a modest smile.

He sat with folded hands, his eyes half-closed-not out of devotion, but because he couldn't stop watching her. Meera. Lost in her silent prayers, her brows slightly furrowed in concentration, her lips moving ever so softly as she had an unspoken conversation with her Kanha. She looked ethereal under the soft glow of temple lights.

The priest began chanting mantras, his voice echoing through the peaceful sanctum. Aditya didn't blink. His eyes were still on her. She hadn't looked at him even once. She wasn't even aware of the fire she set within him just by existing like this-calm, devout, and infuriatingly serene.

The rituals continued, and the priest applied tilak to each of their foreheads. Meera bowed her head in respect. Aditya didn't move. His eyes were glued to her face. She was still whispering in her mind.

Then, the sunlight broke through the temple and fell across her face. Her skin shimmered like gold, her eyes still shut, her fingers tightly entwined in prayer. Aditya's breath hitched. She looked so divine-almost unreal.

"How can someone be this beautiful... this untouched by the chaos around her?" he wondered. "What spell has she cast on me?"

After the pooja, the priest handed them a small vessel and said warmly, "Beta, here's some Gangajal. Offer it together to the tulsi plant. May Kanha bless your bond and bring joy into your lives."

Meera turned her face slightly and gave Aditya a look full of mock-seriousness. "Did you hear that? And honestly, I think you should drink this Gangajal too-might purify your thoughts."

Aditya's lips curved into a slow, teasing smile. "Not only will I offer it, but I'll happily drink it too-just tell me, did you plan my murder in your mind while chatting with Kanha?"

Meera looked scandalised. "Mr. Singhania! What is wrong with you? This is a temple. Who even says things like that here?"

Aditya just laughed, the sound low and boyish. "I just like to see that little crease on your forehead when you're annoyed."

Together, they walked to the tulsi plant. As they tilted the Gangajal vessel, their hands accidentally brushed. Aditya stilled. His gaze dropped to their joined fingers, the moment so small yet so intimate. Meera didn't pull away.

For a few seconds, everything around him blurred. No temple, no people, no priest-just that soft brush of her skin and the sound of his own heart racing. "How can simplicity look this intoxicating?"

She looked up and caught him staring. "What?"

He blinked slowly. "Nothing. Just wondering if your Kanha accidentally made an angel and sent her to torture me daily."

She rolled her eyes, hiding her smile.
Once outside, Meera raised a brow. "So, do you have case? Or is your wallet still filled with cards?"

Aditya smirked. "I actually do have a case."

"Wonderful. Then give it to me."

He handed her the case without argument. Meera took it and said, "You give it to them."

Aditya leaned back with a sigh. "Baccha, whether you give it or I do, what's the difference? Same end result. But... sorry. I won't give it. You go. I'll just watch you because you're a better and beautiful person, I'm not."

Meera gave him a long look but didn't argue. She walked to the poor sitting nearby and handed over the case gently, offering them a warm smile that Aditya secretly admired more than anything else in the world.

As they returned, Aditya quickly opened the car door for her. Meera slipped in with a soft 'thank you' that she probably didn't even realise she said. He got in the driver's seat, started the engine, and then-because he just couldn't resist-began teasing again.

"So, baccha... what did you ask your God for today? My untimely death? A sudden arrival of divorce papers fluttering down from the sky?"

Meera turned sharply. "I asked Kanha for patience. Because clearly, I'm being tested every single day.."

Aditya laughed. "Patience, seriously?" He glanced at her again and softened. "But honestly, jaan, you looked so cute today. Very... what do they say in Hindi... sanskari? Something like that. But truly, you were glowing. Made me want to stare forever."

Meera deadpanned. "Keep talking and you'll find your next meal poisoned."

Aditya grinned like a child. "That means... you're going to cook for me? See! That's love. That's progress! I think I should take you to the temple more often. They're working magic on you."

Behind them, Kabir sat quietly in the backseat, pretending to scroll through his phone, but secretly watching them through the rearview mirror. His lips twitched with suppressed laughter.

It warmed his heart-watching his boss, the man the world feared, teasing a woman with such boyish joy, looking at her like she was his entire universe.

No orders. No blood. No cruelty. Just... happiness.

Kabir was genuinely happy seeing his happiness something the whole world wished to witness but rarely ever got the chance.
