Tethered by Starlight follows a young novice brought to the Celestial Bastion-a floating sanctuary where silence is holy, desire is forbidden, and the Seraphim are feared as much as they are worshipped. Raised to devote herself entirely to obedience, she is assigned to serve under Caelum, a High Seraph surrounded by whispers of exile and rebellion.
What begins as sacred duty quickly turns into something far more dangerous. Beneath the gaze of the Elders and the witness of the stars, rites become intimate, silence becomes charged, and devotion begins to blur with hunger.
In the Bastion, every vow is binding.
And some forms of worship were never meant to survive heaven.

Author's Note:
The main plot of Tethered by Starlight did not originally come from me. It was inspired by a one-part Patreon audio from Best Kept Secret posted on September 25, 2025-an audio I was fortunate enough to listen to at exactly the right time. I became completely captivated by it, perhaps because of Mr. Thorne's voice (if you know, you know), or perhaps because of Ashwyn's writing and the way it carried so much tension and intimacy so effortlessly. Whatever the reason, something about it stayed with me long after it ended.
For a long time, I hoped for a second part. Requested one, even. I kept returning to the story because it felt like there was still so much left unsaid, so much more that could have unfolded within that world and between those characters. But eventually, it became clear that continuation might never come.
So this became my own version of it.
Not simply a retelling, but something inspired by the feelings the original audio left behind-the longing, the restraint, the devotion, the quiet ache of wanting something you were never meant to touch.
I only hope you enjoy reading Tethered by Starlight as much as I enjoyed listening to the original inspiration that gave birth to it.
