The very thought of it was unusual to Kai considering all of the lies she and her mom had to tell him in order to not feel his wrath. Through witnessing her mother's unconditional love for her father and the abuse that neither her mom nor her had earned, Kai meets someone who will make her question all of her thoughts about trust.
