When Batman faces off with his old foes he discovers a new face lurking beyond the shadows waiting for there chance to strike. No one has a clue on who this person is except for the Riddler. Now will the dark knight be able to overcome this challenge or will he too be engulfed in the shadows. I know maybe a little dramatic, but fair warning to readers this story may have some messed up stuff later in the plot. Kwaidan(or Kaidan,) is a Japanese word with two characters, the first (Kai 怪) meaning "strange, mysterious, rare or bewitching apparition" and the second (Dan 談) meaning "talk" or "recited narrative." The word itself describes Japanese folktale style oral traditions which have lasted in one form or another to this very day, some even making it into print. The three stories in this collection are all based on Yokai, Japanese spirits or monsters. And if you know your Yokai you may be able to even name them! They do veer away slightly from the original stories and habits of the Yokai and Kaidan in question, but stories have to change and evolve to stay interesting. Also I being from a western nation, there will obviously be a somewhat western flare. I hope you enjoy!

What is a killer? A murderer who kills with no remorse or thought of others? Or is it a solider who fights to protect their homeland from foreign invasion? One could say it's a doctor who losses their patient on a table, leaving only their loved ones to lay in tears of despair? I would say it's a person who takes a life for self gain. Each of these roles takes life from a world that is not theirs but only few pay the price. So let me ask you again what is a killer and what punishment do you think they should pay?
