"Why would we?" My cousins answered in unison. I felt dizzy and my body relaxed, My aunt then crouched in front of me, "The money we are going to get for selling you would take care of us for the rest of our lives ." She said with a grin on her face. I started to fade in and out of consciousness. "That money will be your downfall." I seethed at them. Just before my eyes closed two men dressed in black suits walked over to me . • • As my eyes opened, I covered them with my hands immediately, suddenly the lights were dimmed. I sat upright and took in my surroundings, the room was white with only a door and a mirror on the wall. I sat on the edge of the bed when I noticed the door opened and a man walked in. I just stared at him as he held my key in his hand. "Welcome to the Covenant." After the Great War of Ancient Man the Earth was almost destroyed. Poison filled the air, the earth, and the water, but life always finds a way. A millennia later the poison has mutated the creatures of Earth, including it's people. They are split into tribes that live on what's left of an inhabitable Earth. Carlie and Tave are from different tribes, that much is obvious when they have their chance encounter in the woods.
