On a milk run from Darillium, the 12th Doctor finds himself lost in time and space, trapped in a void with only a cottage for company. Its inhabitant, Faith Summers, hides a dark secret, the skeletons in her closet incomparable to those on her sofa. Can the Doctor escape? What is the creature in Faith's attic? And after all the Doctor's travels, has he found proof of a higher being?

In a small medicine shop in NYC lives a girl named Pace. Pace and her father are the last living potion masters. Potion masters are a type of witch, the only type in Pace's eyes. When Pace's father leaves to go on one of his many trips to tend to magical beings, Pace is confronted by Caelum and Fidem. The two boys tell Pace the truth about her life and more importantly the truth about her dad and his lies. They speak of the five types of witches, seers, mind readers, spell casters, elementals, and potion masters. There is one person who can master all of the five witch powers called the quinque. Pace life does a 180 as she joins Caelum and Fidem in the search for her father and the quinque.
