Reginald Hargreeves had adopted eight children into his care, not because he liked children (he doesn't) but because they were special, all born with supernatural abilities. Y/n was unintentionally adopted by Reginald because she is Diego's biological twin sister, her mother would only give Reginald Diego if he also took Y/n. Y/n Hargreaves was the strongest of the eight but she was one of the smallest, which Reginald couldn't have. He couldn't handle the embarrassment of the puny, small girl he never intended to adopt being stronger than her way bigger brothers and sisters. So y/n was forgotten, hidden away from the world.
