It's an ill wind that blows nobody good, but of all ills global warming was the illest. The bad stuff was breathtaking - a hundred thousand miles of shoreline gone to hell, river blindness savaging populations that had never known such things, farmland drowned until the First World turned to hydroponics and the Third World starved. From 2000 to 2900, as the polar ice caps liquefied and thermal expansion did its dirty work, Earth's oceans rose six inches a year. The continental shelves tripled in area and cities from Amsterdam to Singapore disappeared. It was a sailor's planet. The richer places coped. New York and London eked out a precarious existence behind huge levees, as far below sea level as Death Valley once had been. Canary Wharf and the New Trade Center rose above the waves, but everything else was sixty seconds away from immolation. When you docked in Manhattan you took the elevator down twenty stories and tried not to think of all the water that hung above your head.

Every one on this planet once worked hard to save their race, so that their future generations might not suffer what they had to. But did they really know what they were doing?

What happens when you open your eyes to see nothing but crimson flames surrounding your home? What do you feel when you run past burnt corpses of your beloved ones? "Fleeing from the flames" is written in such a way to allow the reader to literally imagine what the animals and wildlife felt when going through the recent bushfires, that must have been a vision depicting hell.

What kind of universe would it be 100 years later? Would it be what we would imagine it to be? An ordinary girl called Ella Lowell had recently turned 13 years old and as the hour hand ticked to one o'clock in the morning, she felt a pang of pain in her eyes, as if they were on fire, and her life has never been the same since. Join Ella on a rocky and suspenseful journey as she risks her life for the world and humanity.

By the year 2024, the entire world has gone to shit. Earth herself has now given up on the human race, and a new element of life has been introduced. The story, told by the perspective of Earth, follows a girl named Florence, trying to survive the apocalypse.

A/N: Mars is probably not the best option for a living environment, and living on Mars probably won't happen in this short amount of time. Although, there will be some non-fiction elements, such as, how global warming started, etc.

Third book to life outside our comfort zone. this book has Global warming and pollution and environmental destruction. I will try to argue both points on everyone's perspectives on why they believe or dont believe that humans are the main cause. I will add citations of where i found the information.
