Augustus, a young, defenseless and opulent Briton, embarks on a boat trip to Italy. The boat goes down and Augustus was the only survivor. What could have caused the egregious mishap? Everyone had died, but he could have saved many more lives, besides his own. He didn't. Selfish. Augustus makes it to the life raft, drifts for what felt like a lifetime at sea, with barely any food and water. During those days he was drifting, Augustus starts to feel an immense amount of guilt and regret. Guilt gnawed at his mind like a ravenous beaver. Regret had begin to fester through his body like a deadly plague. After a few more days, Augustus sees land ahead. He presumed it was just an ordinary island. Ordinary? No. To be able to live through his guilt and regret, Augustus must pass through something first. Something bigger. Something hotter. Something that will atone for his guilt and regret. Purgatory.
