Viserra was the most beautiful thing I had ever created. I knew every mother in Westeros likely thought the same of their children, but in my case, I happened to be correct. The nursery at the Eyrie had long since become more comfortable to me than my own solar, especially in recent years. Between Rhaegar, Lyonel, Dyanna, and now Viserra, I had spent more hours among carved toys and scattered blankets than I ever had around councils or ledgers. And today, my youngest had trapped me there completely. Viserra sat in the middle of the rug with her tiny legs spread around her, dressed in soft lilac silks that matched her eyes so perfectly that it looked like a painting. Her pale silver hair had grown enough for the nursemaids to tie small braids near her temples, though several strands had already escaped and curled around her cheeks after an hour of play. Between the sharp little chin, delicate nose, and unmistakable coloring, she looked every bit the image of Old Valyria. My own little perfect Targaryen lady. And Seven help me, I was absurdly proud of it.
