"Hello, are you Pamela?"
The message popped out from an unknown number in her phone when Pamela was returning from her class. She was kind of sure about the identity of the sender and so without delaying further, she replied instantly.
"Yes, you must be Neel. Aren't you?"
Within a few minutes, her phone pinged again as an unexpected thrill began to capture her heart.
"Hmm. Were you waiting for my message, madam?"
Reading it, she felt like a truant school boy who was caught red handed. Biting her lips, she waited for a few moments before typing as she didn't want to look like a desperate girl.
"Don't be so over confident, sir. Sid informed me that you would be contacting me, today. So, I just assumed."
His reply came instantly and she was busy in chewing her lips in anticipation.
"Hmmm. I was kidding. So, let me give my introduction properly. I am Neel Dutta, a student of Engineer and also a classmate of your friend, Siddharth Mitra."
The boy seemed to have his own charm. Smiling lightly, Pamela typed furiously, "Hmm. Impressive. You can call me Pam. I am a student of English Hons and for your kind information, Siddharth Mitra is not my just friend, he is my best friend."
She was really proud of her best friendship and she wanted him to know it as well. But his next reply took away her all confidence at once and she breathed deeply as she read those words,
"Okay. I get it. By the way, Sid might be your best friend, but I am going to achieve the position of your second best friend. Don't worry. I won't snatch anyone's place. I know how to create mine.
P.S. I won't call you Pam. That's what everyone calls you. I will call you, Ela. I hope you like it. "
This is a story of Pam and Neel.
This is a story of a girl who was stupid enough to fall in love with her crush.
This is a story of a girl whose life changed from optimism to pessimism, from delight to depression, from light to darkness.
This is a story of her struggle, of her fights with herself.
