Inscryption Stories

Looking back on it, Jimmy blames the garden for everything that's happened. After all, that's where he found the box, which led to Deepfrost, which led to this whole spiral of backsliding further and further away from the warmth of life. It had all started simply enough- with a dungeon, and with a goal- and had, over time, meandered into a world of beasts and bosses and dangers that Jimmy never had fully been able to grasp until it was too late, until he learned what Deepfrost REALLY was. But, that's a little too close to the end of the story. Let's rewind things back to the start, back to the beginning of the game known as Deepfrost. Let's talk about the first runs, the first deadly encounters, the first small victories. Or . . . perhaps you should be left to discover that on your own. After all, Deepfrost is a game that prides itself in its own immersive experience . . . in more ways than one. --- Deepfrost is an AU that is a crossover of the games Inscryption (by Daniel Mullins) and Decked Out 2 (by Tango Tek). You don't need to know anything about either of these to enjoy this story. If you don't want spoilers for the level design of Decked Out 2 or the layout of Act 2 and some of the overarching lore of Inscryption, I would consider not reading this fic, or at least leaving it for later :]

The story of 4 objects, who where specially chosen to be the scrybes. They each had to make sacrifices to become said scrybes, some more difficult than others. Their guardians had to endure curses to become said guardians. Some could say they suffered more, since the curses had a lasting effect. But the scrybes hurt more. Not in the body, but in the heart. The scrybes were constantly at war, fight for control. Though they did not battle. Not physically, not mentally, not even with their cards. They searched for something. Something hidden DEEP BENEATH their game. They searched for a piece of the OLD.DATA. This would give them the power they so desired. Eventually, one found it, and took control. They did not want control, rather they did not want the others in control. Tragic things happened outside of their disc, including their creator's unfortunate passing. Fortunately, one of the scrybes inscribed their name onto the disk, preserving their soul inside. They creator also hid the disc before their passing, so the OLD.DATA inside would not fall into the wrong hands. Eventually, someone found it. That is where this story begins. I would really like to see what you think of this! I've had this dumb idea in my head for a while now, and I just figured out I could make this to show that idea. All the II characters belong to AnimationEpic, maybe some blood and death, and Inscryption belongs to Daniel Mullins. Also, Inscryption spoilers. Have fun.

Being a scrybe is hard, but what's harder? falling in love with the robot across the way. Phaenna wasn't always a scrybe, in fact, he came first as a challenger. But, she was never good about following rules, so she changed them. The scrybes accepted her, some more begrudgingly then others, and she joined them in teaching the new challengers. Po3 always appeared to her as the disgruntled scrybe of technologies, they never talked, never met up, never really made an effort to get to know one another. Though- one day, they woke up and made an effort. Maybe it was better the other way.
