The story begins with Gregor Samsa, a hardworking traveling salesman, waking up one morning to find that he has transformed into a huge insect-like creature. He does not understand how this happened, but instead of panicking about becoming an insect, his first worry is that he will be late for work. Gregor was the only earning member of his family. He worked a job he hated to pay off his parents' debts and support his father, mother, and younger sister, Grete. When his family sees his transformed body, they are horrified and disgusted. His father becomes aggressive and violent toward him. His mother is shocked and helpless. Grete, who at first cares for him by bringing food and cleaning his room, slowly becomes tired and resentful. As Gregor becomes unable to work, the family is forced to find jobs and support themselves. Slowly, they begin to live without depending on him. Gregor becomes isolated in his room, ignored and treated like a burden. His physical condition weakens, and his emotional pain grows as he realizes his family no longer sees him as human. The turning point comes when Grete finally tells their parents that the creature is no longer her brother and that they must get rid of it. Hearing this, Gregor feels heartbroken and retreats to his room, where he quietly dies. After his death, instead of mourning, the family feels relieved. They go out together and begin planning a brighter future, especially for Grete, who has grown into a young woman ready for marriage.

By thirteen, the only person she trusted was a stranger on her phone. This is not a love story. It's just the space between two swings. Belle needed a quiet place to paint. What she got... was The House. Described by her cousin as "quaint" and "full of character," the old mansion on the isolated farm is anything but. The house smells like something died in it in 1893 and never quite left. The lights don't work, the clocks don't agree, and the walls seem to whisper when the storm rolls in. Charming. Cut off from the outside world as the weather turns vicious, Belle is not alone. There's a man-warm, real, and very distracting... except for one small problem: She's not entirely sure he is real. Because this house doesn't behave. Doors don't always lead where they should. Time slips. Shadows remember. And sometimes, the past doesn't just echo-it replays. As old journals, strange dreams, and terrifying moments she can't explain bring together fragments of history, Belle begins to uncover tragedies that were never meant to be buried. But the house isn't just remembering. It's waiting... Funny, haunting, and quietly heartbreaking, The House is a story about love, loss, revenge, and the secrets that refuse to stay buried. This story contains themes of psychological horror, violence, and disturbing imagery. Reader discretion is advised. Genre: Mystery/Humour/Romance This is a work of fiction. A frozen world. A disgraced pilot. A secret that refuses to stay buried. Lieutenant Thomas Pizer was exiled to Helheim, H‑155 on the star charts, because he chose conscience over orders. Sent to a one‑man listening post on a planet where winter never ends, he keeps watch over ruins and radio silence while the wind carries rumors and the skeletons of corporate ambition. When a wounded creature with human eyes and animal claws collapses practically at his door, Thomas faces a choice that will define him: protect a survivor of the very horrors his superiors were paid to enforce, or hand her over and keep his fragile exile intact. CryoGen didn't just fund research, they contracted men in uniform to act as a private army, turning corporate profit into battlefield authority. Contracts and ledgers replaced oversight; classified directives masked transactions; and soldiers who followed orders became instruments of a company's will. Now those transactions are bleeding back into the ice. What follows is a collision of loyalties and consequences: a man punished for mercy, a hybrid survivor whose mere existence threatens powerful interests, and an institution willing to erase both to hide its crimes. As Thomas and the survivor, Aura, push beyond the listening post into the ice‑scoured wastes and the half‑buried ruins of CryoGen, they discover that the cold preserves more than bodies: it preserves the choices made in the dark, and the price of exposing them may be higher than either of them can survive. On a world of endless winter, the warmest thing is a dangerous secret.
