What if the most dangerous idea of the 21st century is not artificial intelligence, but the enterprise that tells you, "you are an algorithm"? Anti‑Harari begins by dismantling one of the most dazzling narratives of the tech age: the "inevitability" of Dataism. This narrative, circulated under the guise of popular science, is in fact a new theology of power. Just as medieval feudal power was legitimised through divine order, so too is today's algorithmic order legitimised through scholastic dogmas. The reason is the same: to make power permanent. That is why discourse must be as sharp as a sword - and why "new stories" are always needed. This book targets three fundamental dogmas: the reduction of the human to an algorithm, the denial of the will, and the absolutisation of data. It also lays bare the political economy behind them. The author does not leave the discussion in abstract philosophy. He descends to the body - the primary source of the paradigm he calls Somatic Materialism. He maps a somatic terrain stretching from the nervous system to the gut, from microorganisms to connective tissue. This map reveals: the human being is not a closed computational system; we are an open, vibrating, unpredictable ecosystem. For this reason, the issue is not merely intellectual. It is a matter of a new property regime being imposed under the name of "inevitability." It is a matter of sovereignty and production relations taking on a new form through algorithmic instruments. It is a matter of the body becoming a new colonial territory. Anti‑Harari is not against technology. But it is against technology being presented as a destiny independent of power relations. Because behind what is presented as destiny, there is always a design. A spectre is haunting the algorithm. The spectre is the body.

This is a true story of my personal journey seeking health, fitness and longevity. There were setbacks, struggles, disappointments, and some learning along the way. With setbacks often comes reassessment, opportunity and reward. We all need to learn that. The fact that it has taken me a lifetime may not be so unusual. I was recently asked, if I was 45 years old again, what would I do differently. My answer was, "not much", and the reason is that every age that we go through has it's own unique challenges that are specific to that age and circumstance. With time, our muscles and joints stiffen, our digestive systems deteriorate, and our hearing and sight worsens. So we need to keep changing our focus and pay attention to those needs as they arrise. There are no rules or guidance that fits all people for all ages. And there are no gurus. We all need to figure out our own path as we go along. This story is about my travels along my path, but as I did, watching others going before me, there are some clues that may just feel like the right thing to do.

During my third year of medical school I stumbled upon an online article about calorie restriction with optimal nutrition. I read about an apparently simple diet intervention that prolonged the average and maximum lifespan of laboratory animals such as yeast, fruit flies, worms and mice. At that time, I wasn't aware that such experiments were already done on non-human primates too. Honestly, I dismissed it as a curiosity, an intervention that could have some effect in simple organisms such as fruit flies, but something which would never work in complex beings like us. It just seemed too good to be true. Time passed and proved me wrong. Given an early childhood fascination with the limits of life extension, I studied engineering and medicine in an attempt to radically prolong human lifespan. After a short stint of research in neural prosthetics in a German lab, I realized implanting artificial devices into the human body is not a long-term solution. I returned home where I started the medical residency in geriatrics, the branch of medicine specialized in age-associated diseases. A funny thing happened then. Reading about theories of aging is one thing. Daily caring for people 3-4 times your age is a completely different thing and I started to connect the dots. I noticed some people aged like wine and others aged like vinegar. According to their skinny frames and detailed lifetime stories, it looked like calorie intake had something to do with it. That's how I got started in typing the first words for this book.
