Kai, Nya and Lloyd have... an interesting home life, to say the least. Their parents, Maya and Ray, are world travelling scientists pushing for the next major breakthrough in oceanic discoveries, and with their legacy overshadowing their children, expect only the best of the kids they had "raised." Kai, the eldest, was forced to step up for his siblings at a young age during his parent's frequent "business trips," sacrificing most of his early adolescence in an attempt to preserve what little remained of his brother and sister's childhood. With their parents largely out of the picture, the Smith children make friends, build relationships, and begin to thrive without the oppressive weight of Maya and Ray's impossible expectations and crippling absence. Sure, things are imperfect, and some parts of their lives loom over their heads like storm clouds, but what they have is theirs, untouchable and wholly their own. Until one day it all falls apart. Three years later, Kai is finishing up high school when his parents decide to show up again- this time for good. As the drama of the healing family's lives build up, someone begins to quake from the pressure. Will they be able to keep their secret? Will old connections be reforged? Will they finally be a family again, after so many years of distance and bitterness? And most of all, what will happen when the chips come down? Read on to find out! (Or don't, I don't mind, so you do you honey) Main ship will be Lava (Cole x Kai). There will be Jaya, and maybe others but don't count of it. With that said, this is a ninjago fanfiction focusing on lava and the RGB siblings, with a decent amount of Kai/RGB familial angst(?), so please read at your own risk. Krux and Acronix haven't been seen since they and the Time Blades were lost to the time stream. Until now. Finding Acronix beaten and bloodied, the ninja put the man in the hands of health professions and return to the monastery. While the rest of the team slumbers, Wu listens to the four vocally recorded tapes found with the time twin and discovers a stark difference in opinions and the deep-seated regret hidden behind the mask. (note: the parts are meant to be short in length and serve as set-up for Acronix's redemption) As usual, art on the cover is done by me as well and I hope you enjoy!

What if the ninja weren't stupid? The alliance keeps Krux and Acronix from jumping into time. Wu takes in Lloyd right away, so he doesn't have a chance to unleash the Serpentine. Zane knows how to bargain with Ronin, and if Ronin won't listen then Kai and Cole can beat him up. The ninja don't make stupid mistakes just for the sake of plot anymore. Little Kai had certainly given his parents quite the run for their money. Maya took every single opportunity to get some "Me" time. Most times, these were uneventful. But today- Maya received a very unexpected visitor in the form of an old friend.
