Growing up I've always thought of love being a fairytale or maybe like the dream I've always seen but never felt. So many times I've tried to just "fit-in" to the "norm" but every single time, it just didn't feel quite right. Once I turned 20 years old and fell in love with a girl, I realized that love should be free and alive. This is how Love Is Freedom was born.

"Okay, and what's your heart telling you?" "Keep them both." "Well, you obviously can't choose that one. What's your gut telling you?" I looked at her wishing she hadn't just asked that question. "Let them go." Masanyah Jones is an eighteen year old normal teenage girl ready for college. But that all changes when her best friends find out she likes them, and they like her back. May is confused about who to be with and struggles to make the most difficult choice thus far while facing her troubling past and fighting her withering future. They say opposites attract. Well these two are as about as opposite as you can get. They come from opposite lives, opposite worlds, opposite parents, opposite situations, and have opposite viewpoints on pretty much everything. But besides all their opposites, they find each other, and grow together as they fight through opposite trials and try to battle against everything life throws at them.

"Lasting Words, we cherish forever. Heart to heart, we bond together. No love too big for my dear sister. The love- not greater for any mister." Flashback: 14 and a half year old's, Alexus and EvaLuna were sitting against the wall in a dark alley, next to a dumpster, hiding. They had to get away from their uncle. He just got out of jail and was seeking revenge. Their dad's brother, raped their mom, and got her pregnant. They didn't know he was their father until, the truth came out and their uncle tried to get them. They both sat in a corner, crying softly when they heard footsteps hitting the concrete at a rapid speed. They slid closer to the dumpster, trying to hide their feet from Uncle Jason. They heard a woman screaming, knowing it was their mother chasing Jason trying to get him to not hurt her precious babies. Athena, their mother, was wearing a red sundress that was flying in the air. Her long light brown, wavy hair was flying around like Superman's cape in the night. They knew she would save the day. Future: "Ha ha! Loser!" They teased. EvaLuna was getting fed up with it. She's usually not the type to fight, but she didn't appreciate the bullying. "Baby, I never thought I'd say this, but I love you." "No! I love him! Back off!" Can boys really destroy the bond of sisters? Or do sisters destroy their own bond because there's something they need to get off their chest, but are too scared to talk? WARNING: there will be some mild language and partially steamy scenes in this book and some touchy subjects that might affect those who have had feelings towards certain things. (EX. RAPE, ABUSE.) Emptiness is all she ever feels, she feels like she has no heart that it's just darkness, she doesn't feel, she hears all the mean words being shouted at her telling her she doesn't belong that no one loves her, that she should just go bury herself in a hole and die. She feels empty, she feels alone, she never feels happy, or joyful, all she feels is sadness, pain. She sits in her room for hours and cries, when she has no more tears she does one of the two things sits on her bed and stares at her wall, or she cuts. She doesn't want to stay, she doesn't want to live, she wants all the the torment, all her pain, and all her suffering to go away. This has been her life since she was 10, she is now 16 and still feels the same... Empty.

The man in the window is someone you should fear, this all too real story (not of myself) explores themes of sexual assault & exploitation. This story wasn't intentionally made for this month, but being that April is in fact about sexual assault awareness, makes this that much more relevant. Emerson went to school everyday to only hear the same things over and over again. "What a slut." "Do you think she starves herself to be that skinny?" "Whore." "Undeserving bitch."
