******* "I never new you were coming here", James said sounding shocked by my arrival. There was another emotion which was very clear in his voice, anger. How could a womanizer like him be called my husband? " Yes, you never know. I guess God showed me the path and I must admit, what you did here was very out of place. It deserves punishment-", immediately those words escaped my mouth I felt his palms on my cheek. His usual behavior. Unshed tears managed to fall from my lovely brown eyes. He was very unworthy of me, but what could I do? I was his property now and no one in the village could help me. As if they would if they had the chance to. "Do not ever talk to me with that hostile voice. Stupid girl. You are mine now. You think those puppy brown eyes and that pretty face of yours have an effect on me?", he said in his usual hoarse tone. What and who have I gotten my self into? No matter how he troubled me I was never going to give up fighting for my rights. If there was one thing I learnt in the big city full of sinners, then it will definitely be that, we humans had rights. " No. I don't think that. I think you are an imbecile and... and a coward. That is what you are. All you do is dodge your problems, but I promise you, they will always come back to haunt you", I said pointing my middle finger at him. At the mention of these, his filthy hands found their way back own my soft cheeks. I was done for. I knew it............... ******** This is a little part of the story. The story follows the life of a young girl who struggles to make her rights known. A village girl who fight for her rights whiles struggling to fit in a male dominated society. She goes through love, heartbreak, and even life costing accidents, but doesn't give up. Will she find the home she's been longing for? Her home, her sweet home. Because to her, a home is a society where everyone loves and respect each other regardless of their gender.

Alice is not me, but she was born from the opposite of me. In real life, my father never drank, never smoked, never even touched temptation. My mother knows truth in her bones and she recognizes it in all things, in all people. That's the earth I was planted in: clarity, wisdom, strength. Alice was born into a different soil. This story isn't about me. It's a mirror held up to the world white folks made and the reflection they refuse to see. Her mother is a judge. Not a villain, but a believer. In systems. In order. In paper laws that never protected girls like her daughter. She loves Alice fiercely, but can't speak the language of spirit. She thinks truth lives in courtrooms. One day, she'll learn that the land tells the truth far better. Her father is a guitarist. A dreamer. A runner. A man who turned rebellion into a lifestyle but never made it a purpose. He raised Alice on rhythm and avoidance. He taught her how to disappear in plain sight. They are not evil. They are familiar. They are the parents many white folks recognize. The ones who mean well, who don't understand, who think acceptance is enough. Alice is not here for acceptance. She's here for reckoning. She wasn't born into cruelty, she was born into denial. That, too, is a kind of violence. She is clever. She is sacred. She is the faultline cracking open the silence of stolen land. This is her story. Not safe. Not soft. You're damn right I wrote her... Because I'm that motherfucking cis-passing, white-passing, tyranny-walking-down-your-street. Boom. You won't see me coming, but I've always been here and I'm just getting started.
