Taken, abandoned. Unable to use her voice Ruby tries to navigate the academy for the mentally ill. Bullied and targeted Ruby is a master at disassociating. Pulled from her mind Ruby experiences episodes of blackouts, but what she doesn't realise is during the moment of darkness, an Alter has risen to the surface of her mind to protect her at its core. As Rubys alters surface with reason, the truth of it all unravels. Ruby never should have been back, her Alters have wiped her memories to keep her safe but the relationships they have within the Academy are fighting for their specific Alter to control, desperate and angry to have the part of her they love, a job has been allocated to them by her Alter leader; to bring Ruby's memories back, they must penetrate her fear. fear will trigger her they say, but how much fear can the men who love every part of her cause before it breaks them. To protect Ruby, a new Alter is created, desperate to stay at the surface despite knowing the consequences. She demands control, as well as gaining a new lover in the process. All out of options, the men take control over the Alter hosting within Ruby, releasing patient Zero could be the only thing to bring her back, but everyone fears him for a reason, trapped him in the belly of the building with cause. There is nothing in this world he wouldn't kill, other then Ruby, and being in love with her they understand the risk to their own lives, her Alters fear him, for his ability to bring harmony to all that live inside of her but he also has the capacity to tear her mind completely apart, the risk was too high to begin with. But if patient Zero is all they have at their disposal, they must consider the risk of it to bring her home.
