Prequel to my story, "Lies of a Loyalist". Set in 1775 Harold is met with the conflict if the ever growing war within the colonies, he finds himself on a more patriotic side if the spectrum. Even with his view he has no desire to pursue what he sees as right, he wishes to stay unnoticed and keep his family from harm. Though this is all changed in the course of a single day.

"After the Storm" is a poem of resilience and renewal. It speaks of life's turmoil-burning ground, roaring seas-but reminds the reader that the soul remains untouched by destruction. Through imagery of drifting and searching, it expresses the struggle of finding light after hardship. Ultimately, the poem conveys that while no path may seem to lead to the stars directly, clarity and purpose lie beyond life's storms. It is a reflection on perseverance, inner strength, and the promise of peace after adversity.
