This is an attempt to figure out one of the subplots of my book. Unedited, since the point is to keep writing until I have something resembling a plot line :D Lord Malcath Ravenstone is the head of a fallen noble house in the pirate town of Myran. He wants to revive his house, make the Ravenstones into influential nobles again, but he has countless obstacles in his way: the negative stereotypes about his family, more powerrful nobles who don't want him climbing up the hieararchy, a lack of resources and allies, and most importantly his own limited perspective and stubbornness.
