The story takes place in November 1925, between World War I and World War II. There was an investigation into the case of the Desert Ripper, a notorious criminal on the run from justice, along with his group who traveled the world. The killer takes something from the powerful desert called a soul crystal. This crystal grants him the power of the wizard or witch he killed, making him virtually immortal. The killer has been on the run for 150 years, and over the years, he has begun gathering people to help him kill powerful wizards in government ministries and high-ranking positions across the country. Our detective heroes, Cameron V. Starling, Albert Evans, and Robert B. Blackwood, investigate these cases together to bring justice to the people who were killed and harmed by the killer.
