Marie Smith is a freshman at Waterway High School. She's not one of the 'populars' but regardless, she's determined to make the best out her four years. Her best friend Lexy has been there for her since day one and as long as they're still friends Marie doesn't see where anything can go badly. Marie used to be best friends with Jack Murphy who is one of the popular kids and is also captain of the football team. All the girls in school are always all over him and he has a reputation of being a bit of a player. Despite that, Marie developed feelings for Jack and and thought that she could change him. Marie told him how she felt, and after that he stopped talking to her and they didn't have any classes together, so by freshman year they pretty much forgot about each other until they ended up getting Geometry together.
