What if we lived in a world where pictures stayed in colour and slowly faded to black and white as the people in them were dying? That's how it was for 17 year old Kate anyway, it was rather odd, the way the posters on her bedroom walls would change, and pictures of old family members making her house seem so dull, but it was also helpful. Until she finds a picture dated back to 1826 and it is still brightly shown in colour, with no sign of any fading, she's shocked, but also wants to find this woman in the picture. Simply because she wonders if there's a possibility of pictures staying in colour, or if there's something more sinister behind it
