The Shadow World in upheaval with Valentine and the Circle continuing to grow stronger by the minute and our gang quickly becoming disillusioned with the Clave and their reaction to the recent events. Loyalties will be tested, unlikely bonds will be made, and relationships will be pushed to the limit as the Shadowhunters and their Downworlder friends make their own way in a new world. 2B: Shadowhunters returns for the second half of Season 2 with Shadowhunters and Downworlders reeling from what happened at the New York Institute in the winter finale. As the rift between the two sides grows larger, the team and their Downworld friends and lovers are put in the middle of the dangerous divide. Torn between the Clave's rules and what they feel is right, Clary, Jace, Alex and Isabelle struggle to help forge a new beginning. Relationships will be tested, a new Shadowhunter named Sebastian will join the fray and the Seelie Queen will step out of the shadows in the summer season.

When Azazel sent Jonathan back to the mortal plain, he missed the mark as to which dimension Jonathan was supposed to be in. Instead of showing up in the Shadow Dimension, where his sister and the rest of the TMI gang are, Jonathan shows up in the real world. He appears in a small town, named Paraparaumu, in the country of New Zealand. Jonathans' luck turns when he's found by a young, genderfluid person, named Charlie, who's only a couple of months away from 20, not all that much older than him. Charlie, being a Shadowhunters fan, and having recently lost her entire human family, with only his dog, named Bubbles, takes Jonathan in without hesitation. She helps Jonathan realise that what happened to him wasn't normal or right, and brings him out of his shell slowly. Jonathan and Charlie form a close relationship, especially after Charlie shows Jonathan the Shadowhunters TV series, and how his life would've turned out, had Azazel hit the mark. When Lilith comes to check on her son, she finds he has a very loyal protector now. When she recognizes Charlie as one of the children her and Lucifer routinely watch over, and have done since Charlie was a child. Then, when the TMI gang comes to see Jonathan, Charlie makes it clear that Jonathan will not be leaving unless he wants too.
